I resigned myself to shopping later. What the heck, I don't have the funds for it right now anyway! 8)

Ah, so that's the deal. I was in Chicago a couple weeks ago, and while buying yet another Chi-area map (it's what we do when we go to IL), I thumbed through an SI. No CD, no buy. Now I have to get to the local bookstore and hope they still have one available. :P

I know of one particular homestead that's in his name. Happened to be browsing real estate records one day, and thought "hey, let's see what Jimmy has!". Yes, it's a nice place. It's visible via Google Earth. Nice view of the Atlantic, I'm sure, and a golf course out the back door. And the...

I figured everyone on BN was up to snuff on drinking and shipping laws! Nah, most of the time, I'm happy with what I can get locally. Only other time I've really wanted something I couldn't get here was a bottle of Richard Childress wine for my parents. I look at locally unobtainable drinks as a re...

I should see if my dad in Jacksonville can pick me up a 6-pack. Only question becomes shipping alcohol to Wisconsin. Not sure if that's legal.

Sounds like a good reason for a roadtrip, though!

I did the same. Punched in my zip code, and came up with three gas stations and two spirits shops that were supposed to have Landshark. Now, being in the home of Frozen Tundra, I didn't get my hopes too up, but I drove out to check it out. Skipped the gas stations, but stopped at the first store. Th...

Re: 1956 and 2006 - How the times have changed

I had a chemistry teacher in high school who could throw a piece of chalk or an eraser like a big leaguer. Classroom measured thirty eight feet, corner-to-corner, thirty occupied desks, and he could hit the kid who was talking without any collateral damage. 1990, history teacher here in WI. Target ...

That part I hadn't heard until the interview... I'd read in one report that it was a rented plane. Same report had really botched the Jamaica Mistaka story, too. There was something else, too, but I can't recall what it was. Brain vapor-lock or something.

I, um, taped it. Yes, I'm a technosaur. Also thought that the questions about the French Connection were well handled from both ends. It's great to see Jimmy being able to laugh about an unpleasant situation like that, and at the same time, clear up a few of the inaccuracies seen in some of th...

Death penalty? Nah, get him life without parole.

Immediately following which, gosh, it'd be a shame if some talented guy with a rifle put one through his head as he left the courthouse. Takes care of the appeals process right there.

Sounds like a drinking card game we play - FUBAR. Some of the rules become modified to allow for either more drinking, or more endurance, depending on how many people are in the circle. Coupon can be entertaining, too, unless you're unlucky with cards. Then you wind up on the floor way too early. La...

Eh, I think he may have been the first of the "cookie-cutter drivers". Too politically correct to really say what's on their mind. That seems to be changing a little at a time these days, but he's got "Mini-Jeff" in the 48 to take over the corporate mouthpiece role. Personally, I...

Nice pics. That same weekend here in WI, while we watched the snowball fights on TV, it was 50° and sunny. My wife gets calls at work from Tennessee all the time. Every one starts out with "Hey, betcha it's cold up there. It's beautiful here!". So... predictions for Martinsville? May...
