Re: To lock or not to lock

HINT: Keep your spare key in a stone or a rock, but keep it in your neighbor's yard.

Re: Seasonal Beers

While I'm not big on chocolate, this is one of my favorite seasonals. 8) http://www.samueladams.com/_assets/beers/bottles/large/33625c13-ceda-48c8-99c8-55acf98f176d.jpg I agree......I wouldn't want to drink this brew a lot, but in winter it does hit the spot! I'm a big fan of Sam Adams family of be...

Re: Random Facts.

In the famous car-chase scene from the 1968 film, Bullitt, the guy who lays his motorcycle down is not a scene trespasser, as has been rumored, but stuntman Bud Ekins, who also did some (but not all) of the Mustang stunts for Steve McQueen.

Re: Where is Jimmy Buffett?

Hi Joe, First, thanks for your post. Good to hear from you. Second, I'm not sure how much response you'll get in this thread, but try in the MOTM thread. There is usually quite a buzz going over there about all things MOTM. Before, . . .During, . . and After, . . . Many of the impromptu appearances ...

Re: What Movies Scare You?

The Birds really scared me. Also a cheesy 70's movie called Don't be Afraid of the Dark . It's being remade now. There were these little troll monsters who lived in the basement and killed people and whispered chants and carried sharp little knives. Gave me nightmares for a long time. Yes! Freakish...

Re: Rust off of Cast Iron?

There are rehab centers for blind horses, abandoned monkeys, and cast-off critters of every species. I think there ought to be a haven for cast iron cookware. A place where it can be safe, clean, and seasoned. And, if possible, placed into a loving home. Where it can live out its days in happy servi...

Re: Rust off of Cast Iron?

I have never seen any cast iron that couldn't be cleaned by hand-held abrasives and elbow-grease. That being said, the boys scouts around here will put a rusted, filthy cast iron implement into the embers of a red-hot fire until it glows. Then pull it out and allow to cool. The rust and stains shoul...

Re: Nominees For Rock Hall Of Fame, Class Of 2011

I actually was a big fan of Laura Nyro, both as a performer, and as a songwriter. As was I Ellen . . . She only rarely did television performances. Jackson Browne's song "That Girl Could Sing" was about her - they had a relationship back in the early 70's when I was in high school . Child...

Re: 12 String Guitar

Musicians love musical instruments. When a musician has lots of money, he may spend a great deal of it on musical instruments. Sometimes he buys one that he loves for a short time. Then it goes into storage or goes up for sale. Steve Miller has rooms full of guitars that he never plays. I'm sure oth...

Re: How in the world is this done ? Jack??

I saw it posted on facebook. The trick is that the liquors are added to the tin with the tin at an angle and the tin is never shaking. The liquor doesn't mix so it comes out in the order it went in. Pretty to look at, but each glass tastes different. Pretty neat. But the liquor must come out in the...
