Re: Should Buffett be in the R&R Hall of Fame?
The Hall has no credibility, Madonna is in it. And to even consider a hack like Bon Jovi is ridiculous. Now that I've gotten that off my chest, as much of a fan as I am, I don't think Buffett belongs in the Hall. Longevity and a devoted, cult-like, fan base aren't enough, in my opinion. What...

Re: Should Buffett be in the R&R Hall of Fame?
I used to think yes, but now I think no. To get an idea of who influenced who and even the creation of country trop rock etc., go read an old "Buffett Scrapbook". Though not at all complimentary through and through, this book is quite objective about the Buffett thing. I know alot of you h...

Re: Rolling Stones Top 500 Songs
Margaritaville is a song about lazy days on the beach. . Sorry but I have and will always believe that Margaritaville is the "Wife/girl just left suddenly and the poor guy is shell shocked so He hits the Beach (and the Booze)" song.. Or just the "divorced mans National Anthem" :...

Re: Rolling Stones Top 500 Songs
Absolutely disagree. At the time, Buffett was as rock and roll as Marshall Tucker, Jim Croce, Jerry Jeffetc. Young people were establising a genre of country rock, or southern rock. Shortly after it evolved into progressive country and has continued to blur lines to this day. Today, Buffett is accep...

Margaritaville is a top 500 song. It is the cornerstone of a genre of rock generation music. Whether you are sick of it or not, there's a reason it's his most popular song.

Jimmy has always had great guitar players, but I think Peter is the best ever and he has incorporated a sound that is unique and his own. I love Utley but I think Peter is the MVP

Every new Margaritaville diminishes the specialness of it to me. The only true Margarivaville Cafe is in Key West in my opinion. No knock on Baltimore though as I love Inner Harbor.
