He was still THE Jimmy Buffett.

Re: Songs Buffett Needs to Retire From the Live Shows

One of my favorite Buffett moments was the first time he played Southern Cross. I wasn't expecting it, always loved the song, and it was perfect. I think it was '97 or '98 at Great Woods.

Re: my very first

My "first" was an 8-track. :o A-1-A to be precise. Nothing like shoving matchbooks under the tape to get it positioned just right in the car's player .... otherwise there was track 1's Door Number Three bleedin' right into track 4's A Pirate Looks At Forty . No youngsters ..... I am not s...

Re: Thunder Island

There are alot of things Jimmy could and does cover very well. Like Mexico, Window of the World, Tree Top Flyer, and of course Southern Cross. Glory Days, Trippin Billies, On the Road again ( though that should be easy for him!) not so good.

It would be a disaster. He doesn't have the range for it no matter what key he put it in. Peter Mayer could do an excellent job with it though.

Re: DO You Think Jimmy Is Worried?

If Jimmy was worried we'd see it in the price of a ticket and the reason there's tickets left is scalpers but they were bought at least once for the scalpers to get them. He's not worried. Re: DO You Think Jimmy Is Worried?

Wow, is it really legal to drink with your parents in Texas? I'm guessing that is at home, not in restaurants, correct? Not true. I am also a licensed TABC (Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission) holder and the law states that as long as he is drinking with or carrying alcohol for his parents, it is le...

Jimmy Buffett didn't lead me to my lifestyle. My lifestyle led me to Jimmy Buffett (a long time ago).

Re: Jimmy Buffett farewell tour in 2010?

First off, I don't believe the rumors. But honestly, I would not be surprised if he stops touring as we know it in the next couple of years. Ticket prices, our (old fans) lifestyles and the prices of attending have kind of slowly changed things. And there is a point when a performer starts to look (...

He was playing Carvin electrics back in the seventies. Also a Sante Fe acoustic back then. Currently I think he is back to tele's.

Re: Bama Breeze - Beer In Video

Looks like Bud and Millers to me. Since the video is a period one, maybe they tried to be authentic to what most people were dringking in the 70"s. Maybe one of the long necks tht we can't read is a Schlitz.
