Re: Chicago show venue failures a breakdown
Read Jim DeRogatis's story today at the attached link: http://www.wbez.org/blogs/jim-derogatis/2013-07/parrotheads-christen-expanded-live-nation-venue-107905 This is as much about greed and back office dealing as it is about concertgoers getting screwed. I live in a Chicago suburb but identify with ...

Re: An Open Letter to Jimmy Buffett
Jimmy rewrote the words to "Morris' Nightmare" to exploit the problems Carnival Cruise lines had earlier this year. Maybe it is time to re-write it again with lyrics pertaining to this debacle. It could be called "Chicago's Nightmare". I was disappointed he didn't play it last ni...

Re: An Open Letter to Jimmy Buffett
To add to what NVRMND17 posted........ This venue could become a premier concert destination but if this is the finished product, it is a massive failure. While my wife and I had reserved seats about 14 rows back from the stage, the amenities of the venue are sorely lacking. We have been to several ...

Re: Alpine
An Alpine show for Jimmy is important for him and the theater. This is one of the largest venues that Jimmy plays. If the attendance is any indication of the money that is to be made by his organization (which I would think it is as Jimmy seems to be a successful businessman), then the single show b...

Re: 06.25.2011 Alpine Valley Music Theatre, East Troy, WI
It appears that the law of supply and demand have finally kicked in for Jimmy's tickets. Pavilion seats are still available for Alpine Valley (I just pulled four in Section 203, Row GG, at 730pm) the evening they went on sale. In all the years that I have gone to Alpine, I have never seen this befor...

Re: Ticketmaster is a scam
I tried to call at 10:00 and my wife was online at 10:00 and could not get any tickets together. I needed 6 together in the upper section and couldnt even get them in the expensive section. This is rediculous. When I go on stubhub and scalpers websites they have thousands of tickets. All this means...

Re: Who's going to Alpine Valley - June 26th 2010
When and where was the early entry "bribe", or whatever you want to call it, advertised? Who did the money go to? Did Jimmy get it? Did the theater get it? Did Live Nation get it? Did the Walworth County sheriff's office get it? Did it go to beer money for the employees parking the cars? W...

Re: Who's going to Alpine Valley - June 26th 2010
Has anyone had any experience tailgating for Jimmy at Alpine in the ADA/restricted mobility lot? One of our friends had one of her knees replaced about three weeks ago and will not be able to negotiate the lawn to get to our seats. I parked in the lot many years ago for a Stevie Ray Vaughan concert ...

What is Jimmy doing on June 24?
I wonder what Jimmy is going to do between Clarkston, MI, on June 22 and Alpine Valley on June 26? The May and August tour segments presently have five concerts each but June only has four. Summerfest in Milwaukee opens on June 24 but Tim McGraw is booked at the Marcus that night. Is there any chanc...

Re: Chicago Show Date - Toyota Park - Saturday, August 14
No lawn at Toyota Park. The sound is much better than at Tinley Park. Because the venue is a soccer stadium, with a flat floor, vertically challenged phans like myself have problems seeing the stage from the sections towards the rear. The tailgating is good and the staff in 2008 was very friendly an...

Chicago Show Date - Toyota Park - Saturday, August 14
The entertainment section of today's Chicago Tribune, Sunday, February 7, has an advertisement for Jimmy at Toyota Park on Saturday, August 14. It says one show only and tickets are to go on sale on Monday, February 15. It seems like summer is already here.

Re: Toyota Park Seating
Unless I had tickets in the "A" or "B" sections, I'd sit on the side of the stadium. We were on the field last year and it was rather hard to see (thank goodness for Parrotvision). Of course, I'm only 5'6" so I am vertically challenged anyway.

Re: Have You Seen Jimmy Perform "God's Own Drunk" in Person?
I saw JB perform G.O.D. in the early 80's at Carowinds, In 1990 at Charlotte Memorial Stadium (the imfamous 45 minute show, I was on the front row!), and in Atlanta on the Stumpo the Bando tour. I believe I have seen him sing 1 other time but can't specically recal. Anyone ever see him play "T...

Re: Alpine Valley Ticket Sales
Mark, To add to what you said, Jimmy did Wrigley on two consecutive days, actually a Sunday night and a Monday afternoon so he will occasionally break his Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday rule. I suspect that a Friday night and Saturday night show at AV would probably be better for most people unless ...

Live Nation still had some over the phone at 877-598-8497. I hope I can say that over here........ I was chided elsewhere.

Re: Alpine Valley Ticket Sales
Bill, After the two consecutive Saturdays at Toyota Park I figured the same logic (as you did) could be applied to Alpine Valley. With the greater seating capacity and the popularity of AV, it seems like more bang for his buck. Parrothappy He's playing two shows a week apart in Chicago. That means h...

Re: Alpine Valley Ticket Sales
This Ticketmaster/Live Nation fiasco is like a monkey f*cking a football. Late last week I called the Live Nation number that Steele1161 graciously posted on February 7 to comfirm that Live Nation would be holding about 10% of the tickets for telephone sales. I was told by the person at Live Nation ...

My thoughts?? I think there are too many threads being started about Toyota Park! Sorry, but really... look in the pre-concert gathering threads to add this kind of stuff, and find out this kind of stuff. (my buzz might be wearing off!) [smilie=battingeyes.gif] Well, excuse me, Tiki Bar, the...
