My thoughts?? I think there are too many threads being started about Toyota Park! Sorry, but really... look in the pre-concert gathering threads to add this kind of stuff, and find out this kind of stuff. (my buzz might be wearing off!) [smilie=battingeyes.gif] Well, excuse me, Tiki Bar, the...

Thoughts on Toyota Park

Now that another new venue has been christened by the Parrotheads, does anyone who was there wish to comment on the location? Parking lot: With a 200pm arrival we had no problem setting up all our gear. Security was friendly and didn't appear to hassle anyone. One of our neighboring phlockers asked ...

I can't imagine how many people actually showed up at 900am on Thursday. We arrived about 200pm and the lots were wide open around Toyota Park. Because it was a "work" day, it appeared that many Parrotheads (understandably) came late to the show. Saturday's show will be the true test wheth...

I guess I'm just an old rock and roll freak, but I have seen so many great shows at Alpine from Jimmy and many other artists that I just have to go with Alpine. I've been going to Alpine since 1978 and I can honestly say that I have never seen a bad show there. The natural valley with the theater su...

Parrothappy. What could go together better than being a parrothead and being very happy about it? Jimmy and his music make me happy every day that I am alive and I love going to his concerts. You get older and learn to enjoy the wonderful things that life has to offer. Simple things like family and ...

My guess is that there is a combination of reasons for tickets still being available for the Thursday night show...... 1. It is a Thursday night. There is a Saturday night show at Alpine the week before and a Saturday night show at Toyota Park the Saturday night after. Most parrotheads like to party...

The name doesn't matter. What matters is that you cared enough to adopt a dog. Way too many of these wonderful animals never get a chance at life. We adopted a shepard mix four years ago after our beloved fifteen year old Keeshound broke his leg with no chance of recovery so we had him put to sleep....

I was just on Ticketmaster and field seats (Section C4) are still available for Thursday, July 24 at Toyota Park. I was able to pull four seats together in this section. Anyone who missed-out earlier or who has had a change of mind may want to take a look. This has been a public service announcement...

Two and one-half hours after the fact, a friend I work with told me to go to Live Nation. I had tried through Ticketmaster all morning for tickets at Alpine with no luck. I got tickets immediately and there was still the ability to get as many as six seats together. This has been a strange year for ...

Maybe the high cost of tickets for Jimmy and other popular artists' shows has helped to alleviate some of the scalping. I'm by no means poor, but eating a $136.00 ticket isn't something that I want to do everyday. I just spent $933.00 for six ticket at Toyota Park but I know that all of them are spo...

Singles are still available as of 930am. Weather looks sort of lousy now but it is supposed to clear off later on in the afternoon. Take along the bug spray to keep those nasty, biting bloodsuckers (mosquitos, not the beer vendors!!!) away. No sense contracting a case of Best Vile Nirus. Parrothappy

The other day he played a cut from the Wrigley Field concerts and made some remark about Jimmy referring to "Wrigleyville" as if he was calling Wrigley Field "Wrigleyville". I guess that JD doesn't know what the neighborhood around Wrigley Field is called. My complaint about RM i...

Anyone who really enjoys life (as I would estimate 99% of Parrothead do) becomes at least a little depressed after the concert is over. All of the activities that build up to seeing a concert, from anticipating the tour stops to the hassles that come with trying to get the best seat possible, are al...

The word is "parasitic" as in parasite. Too many people today are making money off of other people's work and do virtually nothing for it. Ticket scalpers are a good (bad) example and they need to be put out of business. Ticketmaster is the "master" of making a great living by ov...

I'm sure that Jimmy does control the aspects of the band's personal safety. As far as setting the prices for the concessions, I doubt if he has anything to do with that. It seems that some of the venues are taking advantage of one of his "rules" to milk a little more money out of the conce...

Forecast for Alpine - Seventy degrees and partly cloudy

If those of you going to Alpine Valley this coming Saturday are not already pumped for the show, here is a little more good news. The Weather Channel is calling for a high of 70 and a low of 56 on Saturday with partly cloudy skies. It will be the perfect night in the Valley..........

I enjoyed the "concert" without all of the "production" and horns. Being able to clearly hear the steel drums was a real plus as far as I am concerned. Anyone else enjoy the simpler versions?
