There is plenty to do in KW during MOTM whether you have credentials or not. I don't change my routine much as I make sure I spend a good part of each day at Zachary Taylor Beach, do some snorkeling and then wander around to see what's fun. I've met great people and had fun times that just happened ...
Chuck Wagon--I agree with you on The Captain & The Kid.
It's one of my favorites and in the 70 times I've seen JB,
I don't think I've ever seen him play this. I would love to
hear it live.
My uneducated guess as to why JB doesn't perform ASPOL in concert may be due to the length of the ballad. I remember when Beach House on the Moon came out, I saw him in Camden where he played the title song. I loved the song, but people who aren't into long ballads were getting restless. It was earl...
I re-read WIJM on a long beach day in August
and enjoyed it again. I think I missed a lot of
little inside references the first time I read it
when it originally came out. It was a fun read
for the beach.(Don't Stop the Carnival is also
a fun book to read each summer).
I've got a bunch of my Buffett vinyls framed in my house. I was fortunate to find a $3 copy of High Cumberland Jubilee in a used record store a couple of years ago and I have the You Had To Be There double album with the poster that was included with it. At a hole-in the- wall used 45 record store I...
Daisey told me she's getting her own tin cup chalice
dog bowl to collect tips at Mallory Square for being
the Southernmost St. Bernard. She's looking to
corner the market.
Thank you very much to those of you that have supported me in the MOTM contest. At least for a day I am in first place. I really don't expect to win as I just did it for the fun and the good cause. I really appreciate my new phriends who have helped raise money for the kids in Bahama Village. Daisey...
A fellow Parrothead Club of Maine member recently posted a photo of him and Jimmy in the members section of our website. It seems that JB was on vacation in Millinocket, ME after the Great Woods shows and his van broke down. He was getting it repaired at the member's family dealership. He posted the...
Let's see...my epiphany comes in three stages. 1st Stage was high school hearing Come Monday and Cheeseburger on the radio regularly before heading out in the morning and liking JB's sound. 2nd Stage was in college getting hooked on the You Had To Be There album then wanting to hear everything he ha...
I remember when I was a kid that my sister was upset that I got to ride the tractor in the sun while cutting the grass and she was stuck inside ironing, cleaning and helping cook. My parents agreed with her and we had to alternate inside and outside chores. I wasn't happy at the time, but it made me...
I like the Live In Hawaii CDs because the crowd
is so mellow, Jimmy doesn't have to scream out
the words to the songs. I appreciate the way the
songs sound because Jimmy doesn't have to
stretch his range to be heard. It seems like a more
intimate concert than the mainland shows.
Going back to Jimmy's comment, I thought it was refreshing honesty too since his shows have become so scripted these days. That show was approximately my 70th and now that they are more standardized I look for moments that make each show unique. That funny comment along with the debut of the good new...
Thanks SMLCHNG!! After years of reading this site numerous times
each day I finally joined but was driving myself crazy trying to get
the avatar set up. Thanks so much for your help!
