What's the deadline?

I'm going out of town for a week starting tomorrow, and can certainly collect a cap or two for this worthy endeavor, if you've got a couple weeks.

I hadn't heard this, and it's been a few years since I've been to Chicago, but this is sad news. :( Here in Florida we lost Burdine's to Macy's. Hate to say it, bu I think the "quality" -- at least in some stores -- has improved with the name change. To me, the only "real" Macy's...

Kearny, NJ (where I grew up) is the setting for much of The Sopranos . Lake Worth, my current home, is hard to describe: Lots of hippies, artists, immigrants, and yuppies. Sort of like KW 30 years ago (or so I've been told - usually by the Chamber of Commerce). The largest Finnish population in the...

A Stingray?!? With the life he lived, I can't say I was overly surprised to hear of his death, but "stingray" wouldn't have made my list of likely causes of death. As others have said, obviously a tragedy, especially for his children, but he went out doing what he loved, which is more than...

We, for far too short a stay, once had a wonderful and sorely missed kitty named "Margo Quigley"

As in, "Margo Quigley said to me, " James you'd better watch your feet!"

Thanks for all the great ideas! Two days is nowhere near enough time! SharkOnLand -- The Infamous Black Dog Shirt will be coming home! The Flying Horses are definitely on our list. Mommar -- My wife is a lighthouse junkie ( she grew up in Maine, go figure) and is getting into photography, so I'm sur...

I'd definitely try to hit LuLu's in Gulf Shores. Jimmy could take some tips from sis on running a restaurant!

Also, if you're interested in marine life at all, the Dau-PHin Island Sealab is worth a detour. I haven't been Post-Ivan, but DI was a very cool little laid back place.

Two days on Martha's Vineyard -- Any MUST sees?

Hey, My better half and I are going to MV in a couple weeks. I've never been, and always wanted to go after reading all the J.W. Jackson novels. The deal is, I get two days on the island in exchange for spending the next four days in ME with her family, so I want to make them count. We'll be staying...

Hi all, In 1990, I was 18 years old and working in a toy store in New Jersey. One day, "Margaritaville" came on the muzak in the mall. Somehow, I found myself actually listening to the words for the first time and thought it was pretty cool. A few days later I happened to be in K-Mart and...
