Just wanted to add my thoughts. I saw Dan in concert with a friend in the early 80's in Philly and he was amazing. I had lost touch with his music but he was truly talented and he will be missed. Yes, 56 seems awfully short.

One of the local school libraries (6th-8th grade) pulled the book from the library shelf. Turns out the librarian is the wife of a Minister of a local branch of the New Life Church, and she didn't feel the book "upheld community beliefs". Well, the Superintendent got involved right away, ...

Re: 1968- Did anyone watch the History Channel last night

Tom Brokaw did a show on 1968. I was 10 at the time ... And our country as divides as it seems now was also divided then. I meant to watch the show but I forgot it was on. Cable TV being what it is, I'm sure it will be rerun a few times. I think the division in the country was worse in 1968 than it...

1968- Did anyone watch the History Channel last night

Tom Brokaw did a show on 1968. I was 10 at the time but I had older brothers and sisters and lived it through them. I think when we look at our time, especially me as a parent decrying the influences on my kids I think I can understand at 50 now how my parents must have felt :D And our country as di...

I like Brad's take on it too- that was pretty much our church's take on the whole DaVinci Code thing. My then 9th grade daughter did a project on it and she interviewed our pastor and he was pretty open minded about the whole thing in that case. We are United Methodist. I do know the Catholic positi...
