WOOOHOOO the Phillies win the NL East ...WOOOOOHOOOO... SHOOT! There goes the Cubs chances of getting to the World Series. Phillies are the one N.L. team that'll give them fits in the L.C.S. (and beat them-sorry Cub fans, but the Cubs won't beat the Phils). So now I guess it doesn't matter if the w...

After watching the debate (?) , I think McCain kept his word, he didn't show up. But for my money, the debates are pretty much a waste of my time, they don't actually get to debate anything. If they really want to debate, sit down at a table FACING each other and LOOKING at each other and DEBATE the...

I think this election has been decided WAY before either V.P. candidates were chosen. Obama will win the election thanks to the votes of the misguided ones, no matter if he chose Joe Biden or Jesus Christ himself as his running mate, while the REGULAR Americans are voting for McCain regardless of H...

That is correct, but...let's face facts...between Reagan, Bush the elder, and W...the pubs have had an administration in office in 20 of the last 28 years and the Clinton was the only one to have a surplus, let alone 3. The national debt has gone from 965 BILLION when Reagan came in to all but 10 Tr...

OTOH, Clinton *did* leave a budget surplus when he left office. If continued, we might actually *have* the money to bail a few folks out. Actually his last 3 years in office had a budget surplus. W. is leaving all-time record deficits and now throw on the 700 billion bailout on top of the 475+ bill...

I want the same health care benefits John McCain has. (And Obama for that matter) If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. [snip] If ALL these politicians say they care about the middle class (me) , I want the same deal they have. Am I asking for too much ?  [smilie=thatwor...

I have to disagree with my esteemed colleagues, Roger Maris is not a Hall of Famer. Twelve years in the major leagues, he had less than 75 RBIs 8 times. Of his 851 RBIs, 354 of them came in a 3 year stretch - 1960-1962. Take away the 61 HRs in 1961 and he averaged less than 20 HRs/season in his oth...

I want the same health care benefits John McCain has. (And Obama for that matter) If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. And while were at it, I want the same retirement and pension plan they have. I also want to work the same schedule they do. I would enjoy summers off. If ALL these...

Had a little trouble concentrating on some of her answers, occasionally I seem to hear Frances McDormand from Fargo. That's my fault, not hers. Just saw more clips of interview, had to laugh at what you posted. You're right, I also hear it. But like you said that's not her fault, you m...

Definitely the lighthouse. We enjoyed Hemmingway's house tour. Our tour guide was quite humorous and the factual stuff was really interesting.

Yep, their youthful innocence and humor really came out in "Help".... so many scenes seemed to be shot with no script..unlike "A Hard Days Night" where they seemed very uncomfortable

He was SO under-rated and under-appreciated. A mysterious, yet outgoing down-to earth gentleman who was taken from us way WAY too soon. That he was, Garry. :( :( :( When I was young, and most had a crush on Paul or John, George was mine. Ahhh, George , the "quiet Beatle"

Not to change the subject , but I saw Ringo on Larry King recently, and he looks amazing....and he's pushing 70. If you didn't know better, you would swear he ain't a day past 50, if that ! And that's not just his looks, his attitude and everything are that of a man much younger than his year count...
