Re: Songs Jimmy Performs On Written by others
Also performed "Gulf Coast Highway" with Evangeline on their self titled album. Welcome to BN. I've seen you posting on the Favorite songs threads . That's on my list. It is one of my favorites. You can't imagine how special it was for Jimmy to do that one at the Woodland's this year. WOW...

Not letting me vote, but if I could it would be for "The Legend Of Norman Paperman / Kinja" As much as I like "Island Fever", the opening track is irresistable. But remember paradise Doesn't come without a price Let me make that abundantly clear Kinja, our beautiful island In a w...

"Time To Go Home"
I think "Don't Stop The Carnival" is one of his most under-rated releases. He took a classic book and brought it to life in a musical.
Viva Kinja!

"No Plane On Sunday" (one I use for inspiration while often waiting for LIAT to show up or take off.) The lyrics of this song have always stuck with me. Shortly after this album came out, I was at a Lindbergh Bay beach bar in St. Thomas. This guy and his wife came in but the guy could not ...

Manana In the mid 80's, I found myself sitting in the Village Cay Marina restaurant in Tortola, while the lyrics to this song kept going through my head. (It was several days later that I discovered this was also the restaurant that served the famous cheeseburger following a particularly tough saili...

Somewhere Over China.
Not a bad album but a bit too serious and melancholy. Not sure if Buffett was deliberately trying for this mood or it just happened.

Re: Favorite Song From "Far Side Of The World"
"Far Side Of The World". One of my favorite albums. Every song great. But what surprised me most was the track "Far Side Of The World". Its 2002 and Buffett can still write one of the best songs of his career. I have never tired of hearing this track, especially the line "Go...

"Bama Breeze". A song that grows on you, especially since everyone has had their own "Bama Breeze" at one point in life.
"Party at the End of the World" another favorite.

My vote went to "Prince Of Tides". A year before this album came out, I returned to Key West. It was my first trip back since 1974. I was surprised and saddened by some of the changes, but especially seeing condo buildings now blocking part of the sunset. In 1974, watching the sunset was p...

What a great album! Filled with classic tracks but I had to vote for "Death Of An Unpopular Poet".
Not the type of song many people would associate with Jimmy Buffett, but great music and a brilliant lyric.

Pascagoula Run
This album is a particular favorite of mine, helping me through a divorce. I could never quite feel sorry for myself when listening to songs such as "Pascagoula Run", "Off To See The Lizard" and "That's My Story and I'm Stickin' to It".

Also one for whom this is not a favorite album. Seems rushed, but salvaged by "Gumbo" and "Semi-True Stories"

Re: Favorite song from "Living & Dying In 3/4 Time"
Very hard to choose a favorite, this album has all great songs, but had to go with "Ringling Ringling". Again, Buffett ability at clever lyrics caught me. "And across from the bar there's a pile of beer cans Been there twenty-seven years Imagine all the heart aches and tears In twenty...
