Floridays Packaging

Wow, now that you mention it, Floridays is a little thin. The one release (rather the particular version of the CD release) I have has all the lyrics in it. My dad actually bought that one. I bought my own Floridays and it did not have the lyrics in it. So I switched it with him. He didn't care - he...

You Had To Be There Not Exactly Live

True to "live" album fashion, there are overdubs on this record. For one, the vocal on Come Monday is done in a studio. Also there is an overdub on several tracks with acoustic guitar. Grapefruit Juicy-Fruit is a good one to listen to. That gripe aside, You Had To Be There is a fantastic a...

How Many LPs

HA HA! His math has suks indeed, he's always said he has more albums than he really does, even back in the 1980s! Here's what I know of: 1. Down To Earth 2. High Cumberland Jubilee 3. A White Sport Coat... 4. Living And Dying In 3/4 Time 5. A1A 6. Rancho Deluxe 7. Havana Daydreamin’ 8. Changes In La...

Millions

Sales numbers in the 1970s and 80s were based on shipments but the sales of the 1990s are more accurate. So Jimmy has sold over 4 million copies of records in the 1990s alone, the box set has actually had one million people buy it, I think that's right, I know it has sold close to one million copies...

100,000!

Well of COURSE there can't be a license plate that is 000,001 because that is just 1, since the zeroes don't count! Just like 2001 is the first year of this millenium, is the second year of the Twenty Hundreds. Maybe he was hoping it would sell that many copies by his Mr Bubba's birthday, Mr Buffett...

Before The Salt

I have this double album compialtion of Down To Earth and High Cumberland Jubilee. My uncle, Rick Morrow, GAVE it to me as a gift of friendship one summer when I was, I dunno, 19 or something. I never understood what it was about because everyone I talked to had no idea where those tunes came from, ...

Calaloo

This is an interesting record. It's got the Beach House On The Moon print type, which is interesting since this EP has NOTHING to do with BHOTM! WHY NOT! It's has Cheeseburger on it? What kind of LUNACY is THAT! AUGH! Ah, but it does have one from Don't Stop The Carnival, a track Jimmy has never pla...

Off To See The Lizard

I think this album has aged well and Take Another Road fits in quite well on Meet Me In Margaritaville. It's amazing, though, that this album is by the same person who did Floridays and Hot Water before this one. Those two albums are much more organic in sound - acoustic guitars, steel drums, horns,...

Meet Me In Margaritaville

Well, hell, here is one for you all. Inspired by The Rolling Stones' Forty Licks earlier this year, I came up with this before MMIM was ever mentioned. It covers every record he's released with exception to the two lamest LPs - Last Mango In Paris and Riddles In The Sand. A partial revue of MMIM fol...

Far Side Of The World is excellent. It's got a fresh feeling to it. It rocks, it sways, it rolls, there's pedal steel, it swings. It captures a more honed down sound and, lucky for me and anyone else who agrees - no stupid songs like "Math Suks". I hear all kinds of sounds from other album...
