Margaritaville Has Been Found, According To This

This is a pretty interesting way to look at it. Nice history too:

An Updated Hits Comp Would Be Nice

I've always wondered, why doesn't JB release a hits or best of comp that is updated? As in, has tracks from 1993's Another Saturday Night to 2006's TTWWY. I've got my own best of but it's way too long but it's a great comp nonetheless. I included Everybody's Talkin' and Sea Cruise as well. Has anyon...

Re: A Salty Piece Of Land @ Books A Million

I saw the two issues of Swine Not? at Books A Million. The hardback, with the red book in JB's hand, and the softback with...the cover of the book on the book in JB's hand. And the pig is different.

A little goofy eh?

Re: Joe Merchant

The book itself is his best, to me, and the real treat about it is that he not only gave us hints of the new songs he was working on that would be on the next 2 out of 3 records but that they were actually part of the stories. ASPOL is an OK book - the song is better, actually, ha ha. It's a bit lon...

Re: Salty Piece of Land Song

It was recorded for License To Chill but he held on to it for releasing with the book. Wasn't it available through iTunes at one point? It is more along the lines of his recent title tracks - Beach House On The Moon and Far Side Of The World. I like those songs and how they are long and loping and v...

A Salty Piece Of Land @ Books A Million

Buy two get the third one for free. And I think the two were quite cheap - large paperback or whatever those are called.

Good deal? Nice beach vacation gift for...three people.

Anyone know how his book sales are? Which one is selling the most, etc...?

Spray On Sunscreen That DOESN'T Stain Clothes Organge

That would be Blue Lizard that does not stain clothes orange. From what I've found so far. All the rest do. Bullfrog, for one, as well as Coppertone. It's the active ingredient Avobenzone. From what I've read the companies actually know this. I just found this out today. My work shirts are all orang...

Re: Looked Strange To Me

It was coming from people in the volcano and earth quake zones as well as where there are hundreds of tornadoes, blizzards and ice storms and where it floods a lot who were saying, in the aftermath of Katrina, 'why would anyone want to live there?'. The reason New Orleanians were mad is because of b...

Your Top Five JB Albums

I was thinking of this the other day - what Jimmy Buffett album would I consider to be his best? And just what does that mean? His most definitive? It sure seems that Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes is that one. His best songwriting? A1A followed by...CIL,CIA. Every album from the 1970s h...

Re: Buffett's best studio album of the 1980s?

I thing SOC is his best album of the 1980s - it's the most cohesive and has the best songwriting on it. I didn't know I could pick two. The other one would have been Hot Water. It was difficult to not pick Floridays though - which I've always looked at as his 'getting back to being Jimmy Buffett alb...

Re: Buffett's best studio album of the 1990s?

I picked Fruitcakes because it has outstanding songs on it, for the most part (he could have left off Vampires... and put Trouble On The Horizon and it would have been a hell of an improvement), and it was his first album of the decade and it was HUGE. Barometer Soup is probably my fave though - I j...

Re: Looked Strange To Me

Oh I see. Since I mentioned tomtatoes from Mexico suddenly mammabear wants to help me move to some real estate in Mexico? How typically AMERICAN of you! And obviously you are holding on to a property in another country for outsourcing! Why you are so patriotic it's astounding! Great. Tell you what. ...

Re: Set Lists

With his teleprompter he could do ALL of the songs in his discography.

Personally I'd love to see him play a song from every album - it would essentially be enough songs for an entire show. That would be 27 songs if you include Rancho Deluxe and Don't Stop The Carnival (studio albums nonetheless).

Re: Jimmy's opening acts

If I can remember correctly: Neville Brothers, Off To See The Lizard Tour, The Palace, 1989 Bonnie Raitt, Somewhere Over China, Pine Knob, 1982 Zachary Richard, Jimmy's Jump Up, The Palace and Alpine Valley, 1990 Little Feat, The Palace, 1988 Evangeline, Pine Knob, 1991? Those are all I can remember...

Re: Set Lists

You'd have to go back to the early 1990s for the last time Jimmy really expounded upon his back catalogue and each tour had more than just a couple of good nuggets in it. Jump Back was good; The Outpost Tour was probably the best tour. Rece$$ion Rece$$ was pretty good. But at some point he started r...

Easily his best book. I've read it a bunch of times. Too bad Jimmy couldn't remember what his own character said in Don't Chu Know. It wasn't Frank Bama.
