Re: Caribbean Recommendations
We almost always travel to the caribbean in October. The rates are still summer rates and the weather is usally good. I say "usually good" because last year we DID in fact get hit by a hurricane while on Tortola last October. You say you are ready to "reason with hurricane season"...

Re: Annapolis, MD
Here's a mini trip report for anyone interested. If anyone wants more info on any of the restaurants, just PM me. Friday we had lunch at Mikes. I had a dozen oysters and a softshell crab sandwich. My wife had a lump crabcake sandwich. The food was very good and the service was fair. We arrived there...

Re: Boston Hotels....In the City or the Burbs
Check out either the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge (short walk to greenline ) or the Cambridge Marriott (Redline stop in building) Not sure of the prices but they'll be cheaper than downtown and fit your criteria.

Re: Annapolis, MD
Thanks to everyone for the replies. I think Cantlers made the short list. Based on the responses I think we may just reverse our plans and head over the Bridge to St. Michaels and on to Tilghman on Friday afternoon. With the long days of summer upon us we'll still have a lot of time to explore...

Re: Annapolis, MD
Thanks SchoolGirl, Your excellent bridge and newport anaologies gives me a good idea what we're in for. Good tips on parking too! I gave up alcohol for the past month as part of my training but I fully plan to jump back in with a Painkiller (level 3 if they have it) from Pussers. We've been to all t...

Annapolis, MD
My wife and I are headed to Annapolis this weekend so I can do the Bay Bridge Swim. We should be in town by Noon on Friday and are leaving Monday afternoon. We're staying at the Springhill Suites just outside of downtown. I have done some research on things we want to see but the most important thin...

......and go have a happy hour beer and a burger at The Beach Bar at Cruz Bay right before a hurricane is coming. That was a trip! Catsway, if you were like us you got an earthquake AND a hurricane in one week. This trip turned into quite an adventure and we actually just got home late last night--...

Good news on Quito's, it's a fun spot and a good choice for dinner. The owners of Mongoose have the only house DIRECTLY on CGB---way to the left of Rhymers and Quito's. Most guest hang out in front of this little house and I anticipate we'll be there most of the time. It is a nice honor to hang the ...

I love CGB... :D I highly recommend the Mongoose Apartments!! Great place--huge room, the owner (Sandra) is great, and it's just a 3 minute walk down a coconut palm lined lane to Cane Garden Bay (next to Stanley's Welcome Bar, the best place to enjoy a cheeseburger and a pina colada). We only went ...

We'll be on Tortola for the October 14th Full Moon Party too but honestly am not sure if we'll go. We attended one two years ago and while I enjoyed it, I wasn't overly impressed. If you've never been I HIGHLY encourage you to go---if for no other reason than to say you did it. Just don't set your e...

Lot P10 North is on the north side of Route 1 almost directly across from the stadium. It is traditionally accessable only for folks heading North on Route one, and when the concert (or game) is over it exits going north only. Early yesterday though, around 10:30, you could enter from either north O...

My whole group is going next week but two of us drove a town away and took our bikes down to the stadium to check out the situation and get some idea what to expect next week. We got there around 10:30 and there was VERY little going on. Lot P10 North (not to be confused--seriously--with Lot P10 Sou...

Being a native New Englander I'm conditioned to outrageous parking fees (don't like them, but have come to expect them) so the $40 isn't that upsetting to me. I don't like the fact the parking lots are spread out over close to 1 1/2 miles--from the End Zone to the South to Foxboro terminals to the N...

English Harbor Rum
This is by far the best rum I've ever had. It's made in Antigua and unfortunately it doesn't appear that you buy it in the US. They do distribute it to Canada (or so their website says) and I'm curious if anyone has ever seen it in the states. I'd love to get my hands on some for the upcoming Gillet...
