I'm familiar with the concept but haven't tried it yet. I've been invited to give it a shot this summer though and am looking forward to it.

This topic has piqued my curiosity, not for the intended topic but for the weight of liquids. I know Oil weights less than water (which is why it floats on water) but what about alcohol. Does it weight more than water? If you poor a cup of tequila into a pool will it form a "tequila slick"...

That may work at some venues, but I'd eat my hawaiian shirt if you can find a legitimate ticket for $10 at either one of the Greatwoods shows before OR after they start. I agree it MAY be possible to find tickets at face value from real parrotheads at the show, but the chances of finding those few p...

The most I've ever paid is $125 each for GW lawn seats. The most I think I'd ever pay is $175. I usually budget about $300 for the day. If I get tickets at cost or close to than we're eating lobster and little necks and drinking sam adams. If I pay the scalper prices we eat cheeseburgers and drink s...

I was disappointed in the finale too. WAY too many open issues, but I guess that makes it easy for the writers next year. No way they will give the money back. I forsee the guy they let go coming back to haunt them though. Otherwise, that whole scene of planting the money in his apartment had no pur...

I am totally into it!! It's the only TV show I actually make sure I watch every week. I missed the first season completely, but intend to pick up the DVD package next week. I've only missed one episode this year due to my cable being out (and yes the cable company got an earful...) I'm glad to see o...

Kitty,

Congrats!!! Sounds like you're in. You can call your credit card company to see if the charge hit as an extra precaution, but I'd say you're all set.

See you there!!

WOW!!! Three years or so I've been lurking around this board, stopping in for a little midday stress relief and I don't ever remember hostility like this!! I used to think the "my parking lot is better than your parking lot" threads provoked a lot of emotion (btw, GREATWOODS RULES!!) but t...

I've personally always had good luck with Roth Ticket Agency in Providence, RI. Yes, they are a ticket agent and yes you are going to pay way over face value, but they've been around forever and are very trustworthy and easy to deal with. I agree it's not the time to buy now. Wait until late July ea...

While I personally didn't get tickets, two members of my group did for a total of 16 saturday night pavillion seats. This is the first time since our first Buffett concert 11 years ago we will all have tickets at face value. My girlfriend actually had a good shot at 8 more (she was standing in line ...

I rented a canister of helium for a buffet show once and filled one of those blow up sharks. It never even got off the ground. Ditto with a beachball. I was left with this huge canister of helium and no use for it. Enter parrothead ingenuity. I started trading helium shots for a beer---I had people ...
