And, guess what? "Here for the Good Times" is nominated for a Grammy. Go figure. :-?

Steve Earle got a nod. That's a good thing.

I'm about to interview Darrell Scott. Can't wait to talk to him about TEXAS COOKIN' ... and about time on the road with Robert Plant ... his new 2-disc CD, CROOKED ROAD, is really first rate. He's going to be at Poor David's Pub in Dallas on Friday (I think. The site is down.) Such talent.

Re: Guy Clark: Songs & Stories Due 8.16.11.

Am home. Tired, but so glad I drove to Austin for this. I've seen a lot of shows in my almost 60 years, but I've never had an evening of pure magic like last night. Every performer was on top of his/her game. It was historic. The moment JT walked onto the stage, my eyes started to leak. He thanked G...

Trying to wrap things up here at my desk so I can be free to fly .... am headed to Austin in the morning ... meeting up with DAB and conched for the Guy Clark Tribute show tomorrow night at the Long Center. Am listening to James McMurtry's cover of COLD DOG SOUP for about the 100th time. It takes my...

I have always been a huge admirer of Tom Landry. And Roger Staubach. I have always disliked the team ... comes with the territory of growing up as a Redskins fan in the George Allen days, but Tom Landry and Roger Staubach ... class acts all the way. When I went to the opening of the Winspear Opera ...

TT: Thanks for the clip. I like her. 8) I hadn't read the entire press release when I posted that about Jeff Allen. It gets worse. After comparing himself to Willie and Townes (two of the best Texas has ever produced), he says, "I didn't come to Nashville to be a Texas artist." Seriously? ...
