John D. MacDonald is the best, no question, no doubt. I totally agree. His books fill an entire row on one of my bookshelves. John Sandford is another of my favorites. He gets his own shelf, too. But only for the Lucas Davenport books. I didn't much care for his other character (Kidd, I think it is.)

If UPS sent it where you told them to, it's not their fault. They did their job and you have no recourse with them. You can try the suggestion of contacting the people who live there now.
