Let's just hope if he comes to Pittsburgh again, he returns to Star Lake and leaves PNC Park a distant memory. Blech.

I always liked Sammy (although I was a bit late to the party...I only really started checking him out when he joined up with VH). He seems like a genuinely laid-back, no-ego kinda guy who truly enjoys making music and having fun while doing it. Having a healthy dose of the Buffett-style tropical par...

Welcome to this crazy group, Mutt! And great story...it reminds me of the summer job I had right around the same time washing dishes at a country club. I was also the low man on the totem pole, but the bartenders were the coolest guys in the whole place and would hook me up w/ a six-pack at the end ...

The other day I was walking past one of those boutique-ish kinda women's clothing or cosmetic stores in our local shopping mall and heard "Knees of my Heart" wafting out of their sound system.

I often hear his stuff in Chili's restaurants too.

I've found that classic yard games (bocce, horseshoes, lawn darts, volleyball, badminton, frisbee) are always crowd-pleasers.

Basically, anything you can play with a beer in your hand.

And they can usually be found pretty cheap at your local Target, K-Mart, etc. :D

Amen. I NEVER pay more than face value for a ticket, and I always buy lawn (the grass is comfy on the feet and it's easier to dance!) :D

Lord know the "NY vs. Boston" fire doesn't need any more gas thrown on it, but... NY may have more going for it in terms of "stuff" but I've had much better experiences with Boston people than New Yorkers. One example: I went to a university that had a lot of New Yorkers as stude...

Ribeye or NY Strip (Pittsburgh style)
Hey PalmettoSon- how exactly do you cook a steak "Pittsburgh style?" Smother it in pierogies?

I was born & raised in Da 'Burgh, and I've never heard of this...clearly I missed some vital information growing up!

I knew some people who bought their booze at home and took it on the plane as one of their carry-on item. Once I saw how expensive liquor was down there, I realized the wisdom of doing that. I also knew some folks who shipped a box of booze to their hotel, but in that case it seems the shipping cost...

Ballads is the one disc in the set I actually never listen to. Not because I dislike the songs (they're great), but because to me Buffett is "happy" music, and I find many of his ballads tend to be a tad weepy. It's not a problem on the original albums (where there's usually only one or tw...

Craiger, what happened man? I thought you had tix and were planning on going? Ain't gonna be the same without seeing you and your dad there. Pretty much everyone in the Craiger clan was extremely PO'd at the venue switch and all that goes along with it (crummy tailgating, parking price gouging, hig...

I'm taking a pass this year due to the venue switch. When he goes back to Star Lake, I'll be there with bells on!

(But for everyone else who will be at PNC Park....have a great time and take lotsa pictures. I'm looking forward to hearing the post-show stories!)

Quick question- Has anyone who ordered "regular" tickets (i.e. not pre-sale) gotten them? I ordered 2 cheap seats the day they went on sale, but still haven't recieved them. Are they sending them out closer to the show date? Just a little paranoid since the pre-sale folks seemed to get the...

I highly recommend going to the Phlocking- it's a blast! There's tons of good bands, and the host hotel/bar has recently been completely renovated.

Plus, Put-in-Bay is a beautiful place.

In no particular order: 1) I really love the music. 2) Fellow Parrotheads have got to be some of the best people you'll ever meet. 3) I had an affinity for Hawaiian shirts even before I discovered Buffett, so I already had the wardrobe. 4) The concerts & pre-show tailgating... where else are you...
