They'd better have a Pittsburgh show! We still haven't fully recovered from when they bumped us down from 2 shows to 1 a few years back.

We take nothing for granted... :D

I'm usually a weekend guy, but often during the week I'll have one or two. There's some days that simply require a well-made Martini at the conclusion thereof!

I'm a big fan, but I only have 2 of his CD's so far (Key Wasted & Bocanuts). I plan on getting them all at some point. Seen him live 2 or 3 times, too (at MOTM and a little bar here in Pittsburgh a couple years ago). Can't really pick a favorite song since I like almost all of them. Got a soft s...

What a great time! Got to meet so many cool people (PHAW, Desdamona, Happyshark, and so many more...) You've all got a free drink comin' to ya the next time you're in Pittsburgh! Now I got them "Gone Home to Gray Skies After 4 Days in Key West Blues." As Jimmy says: "I wanna go back.....

Hey Pholks- I know I'm coming in late here, but I'll be at MOTM from the 29th through the 2nd...Staying at the Casa Marina. I'd love to meet up with some/all of you, so I'll make sure I check back here regularly to get the updates. Also, if there are any get-togethers planned, name badges being made...

Quick question: Is anyone here going to "Meeting of the Minds" in Key West this year? I'm fortunate enough to be going, and I'd love to meet up with any Buffetnews folks who will be there too (Liz, Talon, RednekkPH, Reefdiver...I'm looking in your direction!) Besides, I've got this nifty n...

Wow! Great photos! I was surprised to find myself making a cameo appearance in one of them (Page#1, in the photo w/ the guy in the red Hawaiian shirt drinking from the shot luge. I'm the goatee-ed guy in the background w/ the grass skirt holding the margarita glass). My photos are supposed to be bac...

Not. Even. Close. As far as I'm concerned, NOTHING even approaches the spectrum of stuff you're likely to encounter at a Buffett tailgate. I've been going to Buffett shows for 9 years, and every single year I see something new. I'm continually blown away by how imaginative & ambitious people's t...

I was 99.9% sure that was Don. I met him a year or so ago when I gave a talk to the students in the ETC. He's a really nice guy. I bet he would absolutely LOVE the scene at Buffett shows. He's got a great, kooky sense of humor, and he'd fit right in!

I've seen my share of people who either intentionally or unintentionally got carried away during the tailgate and essentially attained vegetable status come showtime. I agree w/ the earlier poster who said that if a person has paid his own way, then who cares...but I would never buy someone a ticket...

Frank-

You should be in plenty good shape w/ your truck. I'd say 80-90% of the parking area is paved w/ very coarse gravel, and the remainder is tight-packed dirt. You shouldn't need to 4-wheel it at all.

This is a great idea! I don't know if anything "official" will be worked up in time for the Pittsburgh show, but if not, I'll make a badge from the artwork that was posted earlier. I've always thought it would be cool to meet fellow BN'ers at the shows, and this definitely looks like a ste...

Anyway, are there plans afoot to get any of us together for a meet n' greet-type thing? I've been going to Star Lake for the last 10 years, and it would be great to meet some of you guys.

Kinda funny story: My parents always go to the same ticket outlet every year (it's really the only one near where they live). They've been going there since '93, so they've gotten to know many of the other people who do likewise. All the faces are familiar, and everyone is friendly with each other- ...

Just a few thoughts/opinions: For me, it basically comes down to a behavior issue. If you're acting like a goofball, you'll likely attract attention from law enforcement, and if you're underage, the consequences aren't gonna be fun. In my experience, the police on patrol during the tailgates are VER...

I agree w/ what Burny Charles said...make sure you've got a killer ventilation/air conditioning system.

Or just avoid the issue altogether and build it outdoors. You can never have too many beach bars! :P
