my first trip to the beach was two years ago to Ocracoke. I first got to swim in the ocean when I was in college (Jacksonville in December, but I still did it..froze my @ss off though!!) . My parents liked to go to the mountains instead of the beaches

The batteries last about 1-2 years with moderate use. You can replace them without buying a new one...(NOT cheap, tho!!)
