UPDATE: Wal Mart was not responsible after all! I ordered a copy of the CD from Amazon, and on this new issue ("Original Hits #11") CD, the song has been edited like it has at the Wal Mart site. I have no idea why, and I KNOW the short haired women verse was in the song on my original cass...

I can't get YouTube with my slow connection, but if "The Blues Medley" is available there, give it a listen. Hank and John Lee turned me on to the blues with that song, way back when I was sixteen years old.

I didn't do this download (it was a gift, downloaded and put on a CD for me), so I don't know if they stated on the website that the song had been edited. If they don't state that, they should. And this sounds like a really weak reason to edit a song, editing out a reference ina blues song to a guy'...

I picked up the new Hank Jr. CD this morning, and I must say Bocephus has never sounded better. I particularly like the title track, "Red, White and Pink Slip Blues", "Last Driftin' Cowboy" and "Sounds Like Justice".

Good stuff. Give it a listen if you like Hank Jr.

I'm liking the CD more and more ... it's a little more Townes and a little less WAR ... but I still like it ... and the two songs with HUGE double entendres are pretty darn funny. I can GUARANTEE you it'll debut higher than #50. "Take the Weather With You" debuted at #1 country and top five overall.

Lyle Lovett's new album sold 18,000 or so copies in its first week and it'll be #4 country and #25 or so overall.

I'm predicting #1 country and #3 overall.

According to HitsDailyDouble, Lyle will likely debut at #4 on the country albums chart and #25 on the overall albums chart.

The new CD is great. Lyle just keeps getting better.

With my ancient computer (I'm waiting till Windows 7 gets here to get a new one; don't want Vista) and slow connection it'd take me till 2014 to download the album .

The term "snuff queens" was also used in the Waylon song "Laid Back Country Picker", which was written by Vince Matthews and James Casey and which Waylon recorded on December 14, 1972.

Here in Oklahoma, a snuff queen is sort of like the girl at the bar that you pick up as a last resort, the "guaranteed girl" that you know will, um, not let you down. "Community property", you might say, but not community property that you have to pay rent to visit.
