Re: 2009 NCAA Football

Late word from OU is that Bradford will not need surgery, and will be out about a month.

Hopefully he's back in time to kick some Bevo tail.

Re: 2009 NCAA Football

Rumors floating out of Norman today say Slingin' Sammy is done for the year, with surgery probably coming on his injured shoulder in two or three weeks.

Of course, those rumors aren't always right, and in this case I hope they're wrong.

Re: 2009 NCAA Football

My Sooners might've pulled some BCS choke jobs in the last few years, but at least we make it there.

But our Oline is terrible this year. Not only did they let Slingin' Sammy get hurt, they killed no fewer than six drives with stupid penalties.

Wherefore art thou, Phil Loadholt??

Re: Bike folks: Honda VTX1300C -- input, please?

Have you researched prices? That price if very much in line with blue book values. Personally I'm a Triumph guy. The Japanese bikes are good solid bikes, in my experience they don't hold their value as well. Even though these are 2007 models, they are new, never used bikes with no miles on them. Th...

Re: Bike folks: Honda VTX1300C -- input, please?

If I get this bike I will hope to keep it for a long time.

I talked to a few bike people yesterday and last night and they were all in agreement that the VTX1300C is a heckuva good bike.

Gonna take a trip up tomorrow to eyeball 'em.

Bike folks: Honda VTX1300C -- input, please?

A Honda dealership near where we live has new, never sold 2007 Honda VTX1300C cycles for $7499 each. I haven't ridden in a while, but I've had the cycle itch for a few years now, and this price is hard to pass up. I wonder if anyone here has any experience with the VTX, and if so, how is the reliabi...

The entire "Take the Weather with You" album is pretty damn good if you ask me.
I wholeheartedly agree. Like it more all the time.

Any variation in JB concert venues from year to year?

I ask because there seems to, from some of the threads here, have been some unusually slow ticket sales at a couple of the venues this year, and you'd think that if JB would play a few new places the tickets there would sell like hotcakes, since the folks there haven't gotten to see him in a while. ...

I can't stomach RS because of the ultra liberal pablum it insists on trying to cram down my gullet.

I'm not saying they shouldn't write/print/publish whatever they want, but I don't have to buy or read it.

Who cares how many times he changes his mind? It's not like he's running for President; he's a football player.

And he ain't too old to play. Hell, he's a year younger than ME! :)

Should be an interesting year; let the games begin!

Go Cowboys!

That's great info, BB -- thanks.

I wasn't really looking for the names of the people who went, just wondering if anyone here did.

"Last Mango in Paris" cruise: did anyone here go?

My old tape of "Last Mango in Paris", bought when it was released back in 1985 (my first JB purchase), has an entry form on the inside flap that reads: "Win a Jimmy Buffett 'Last Mango in Paris' cruise. 5 Grand Prizes. Grand prize winner and a guest will each receive: Round trip plane...

In no particular order, "Barometer Soup", "Coconut Telegraph", "Son of a Son of a Sailor", "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes", "Fruitcakes". And really I have to add a sixth, which would be "Take the Weather With You".

Re: "Surfing in a Hurricane"

I'd hope so, but that's such an iffy thing these days, since the charts are almost entirely compiled using radio airplay numbers. I do expect the new CD to debut high on both the Billboard 200 and Country albums chart, though.

Anyone have any idea of a release date/month?

"Surfing in a Hurricane"

I caught a bit of the Cincinnati (which RM misspelled on screen as "Cincinatti") show last night and heard "Surfing in a Hurricane" for the first time.

I like it; it's got some zest to it. Can't wait to hear the studio cut when the new CD comes out.

Thoughts on "SIAH"?
