I think "Floozums" (love it, btw) remembered her temper, all right.
In fact, I think she remembered enough temper for two or three people!

Re: Opinions on bicycles?

Don't mind to hijack but I have question. I too am looking to buy a new road bike this year. Nothing special, something I could use a few times a month for maybe 20/30 mile rides. I don't need the top of the line bike, something low to mid-range would probably be just fine. Would it make any sense ...

Re: Free meal!!!

I'm thinking Oprah had little or nothing to do with this; she's just shilling for them. A week or so ago (April 26th) there was a coupon for one free piece of the "grilled chicken" glued to one of the pages in the 'PARADE' magazine supplement that comes with most Sunday papers these days.....

Re: Opinions on bicycles?

Thanks for the advice folks! I appreciate all of it. A good helmet is definitely going to be my first "accessory". Love that baseball cap one. I didn't see anything like that at the bike shop when I was there. They were all pretty much the usual plastic ones. You probably won't. Those tha...

Cinco de Mayo (I should have posted this yesterday)

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the RMS Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment to New York, where it was to be loaded into a railroad car and shipped to Mexico City. As a point of historical interest, this would have be...

Welcome aboard, and enjoy your flight

Passengers onboard a small commuter plane are waiting for the flight to leave. The cabin door opens, and two men, dressed in pilot uniforms, enter and walk up the aisle. Both are wearing dark glasses; one is using a seeing-eye dog, and the other is tapping his way up the aisle with a white cane. Ner...

Hmmmmm.... Opinions on bicycles...... Opinions should probably stay off bicycles as they have no sense of balance and will just fall off.....     :D My sense of balance isn't so hot either  hence my looking at a flat footed cruiser.... and a good helmet. Re: Name that movie

I have no idea but I'll guess Around The World in 80 Days because I know there's a balloon involved in it somehow. You've got it, all right. From the Michael Todd version of "80 Days" starring David Niven, Shirley MacLaine, Cantinflas, and the proverbial "cast of thousands", alo...

Do all texans speak in double (or was that triple) negatives?   "Now I know I did not just hear him dissing both WOMEN and TEXAS !" That's not a double negative. That's more along the lines of a warning shot being fired across Mousy's bow. The organic fertilizer is about ...

Bout time to get a flat screen TV in the cove. That old set's probably not going to make it through the analog to digital conversion of over the air signals! That's here in the good ol' US of A. The Cove is in IRoCK (the Island Republic of Critter Key). We run on island time there. Conversion of th...

Bill, you can take it if you want! I threw it out there in reaction to your quote! If it hasn't been answered by the weekend, then I'll take it. Besides, I need a little time to research the next quote I want to use. I know the movie and the actor, but I don't have the exact wording. http://smiley....

Re: Opinions on bicycles?

I stand corrected on the price. I Googled "Giant bicycles" + "Suede" and got information on something called the "Suede Coasting DX". After reading the remarks following my post I went back to another area within the Giant website and found several other versions of the...

Re: Opinions on bicycles?

Speaking as a long-time cyclist myself, I would go with the Trek. The Giant uses a system from Shimano, and I understand that it is "automatic" shifting. However, experience tells me that "automatic" shifting for bicycles has been tried before and is still not a proven concept. I...
