Re: Fix-It Friday @ the MSC

Well another dreary day dawns here in Rabbitzland. 53°F yesterday and not much more today. It feels like it hasn't stopped raining since isolation began but in reality this will be day 8 of rain. If one was a sky fairy story believer then there'd be 32 more days to go... (There's a cheery thought, e...

Re: Tap a Keg THURSDAY@ the MSC

Good news.

Mrs Rabz's (Toni) Covid test came back negative, which is a positive result in a negative way (apparently - ask your president, I don't understand).

Bugger it. I am going to have a beer.

Re: Tap a Keg THURSDAY@ the MSC

Way back when, in the deepest darkest parts of the past, just after I left school, I was working as a barman/bouncer/doorman/glass picker-upper. The cellarman decided as I was a bigger chap and could lug the 18 gallon kegs around (played a bit of rugby and the like - had a No.3 on my back for the ru...

Re: It's WEDNESDAY @ the MSC

It's all turning to pot hereabouts. Mrs Rabz woke this morning with head cold/respiratory symptoms. Off for testing for her. We've had to turn the painters away for the day at least. The weather looks like we're about to cop a pounding from wind and rain. If we flood again, with everything in the ho...

Re: Taking Tuesday Off @ the MSC

Morning All, Painters are in. Dust everywhere from the sanding. Cleaned out some gutters and fell getting off the ladder, well that sounds dramatic, I stumbled off the last step and tripped on a garden bed and wound up in a shrub. No extra damage. Buggered up my shoulder earlier in the day pulling d...

I made Shrimp Scampi for me and my girls. OK now I am confused. Over here, we called "Shrimp" "Prawns" - got that. "Scampi" is a type of crayfish, so "shrimp scampi" is a little confusing... Re: Ditto that Sunday @ the MSC

I noticed that for both the shoppers & employees. Obviously it's your choice as a shopper (we in VA were not required to wear them) but if your employer said to wear them, shouldn't you wear them correctly? The one's that worry me the most are the ones who wear the mask under their nose. NFI. I gue...

Re: Ditto that Sunday @ the MSC

The overwhelming majority of people weren't wearing masks, a$$hats. We never got to the stage where wearing masks was a thing, although some folk choose to. On Saturday while out shopping I started watching those who were wearing masks. They were mostly the elderly or folk of Asian heritage....

Re: Slidin" Thru SATURDAY@ the MSC

Just gone 7:45 in the AM (Sunday) here.

Smoker is running - a small pastrami.

Then some more prep work on the floors. Then I might even get five minutes for a beer and some work on a model in the shed.

Re: Finally Friday @ the MSC

Rabz, agree 100% on your thoughts! Not sure why, other than the 'paycheck', that performers aren't canceling their shows. I know there's a lot of people behind the band including those that work as ticket takers, concession stand workers, roadies, etc that make the show happen that aren't getting p...

Re: Finally Friday @ the MSC

Wish Jimmy would go ahead and announce the pulling of the plug. My issue is that if the show(s) are postponed vs canceled, people don't get the option of a refund. I know that $ would help a lot of people out in these times. Is what it is I guess... Ignoring the cancellation vs postponement thing, ...

Re: SP Still Stuck at Home Thursday @ the MSC

Well it's here. Friday. End of week 8. Renovation update: I've patched holes, I've created moulding for skirting boards by hand, I carried, I've moved stuff to there and back to here. All while working from home and paying builders to do all that stuff. We got most of the demolition dust out of the ...

Re: Welcome to Wednesday @ the MSC

Great news CNF. Building works continue at Chez Rabz. Why do tradies (contractors? tradesmen?) think that a 90% job is good enough, with the homeowner picking up the slack? After refitting skirting boards, patching holes, pulling up carpet battens, removing stray nails, etc etc etc I have gotten so ...
