Re: Good FRIDAY @ the MSC
A bit of different Good Friday here. As some may recall each year we help out some cattle & horse teams at the Sydney Royal Show (if US TV shows from the 60s and 70s are a guide it's a bit like a state fair and is the grand final of the county fairs). Due to the pandemic disruptions many of the ...

Well it's official.
The project I am working on is in a death spiral.
The words "soaring with eagles" and "surrounded by turkeys" come in to my head for some reason

Re: Woo Hoo WEDNESDAY!@ the MSC
Love the pics & the stories Rabz! Super cool & much respect! My SAR experience is only ground. My time is spent in the trailer handling radio & helping put together tasks. In my younger days I didn't really appreciate how much work goes on in the caravans, offices, radio rooms, workshop...

Re: Woo Hoo WEDNESDAY!@ the MSC
This is a great post, Rabz! I had forgotten that the photo existed until Dad texted me with it the other day. Such fun times - I hadn't spoken to the other SAR Diver for a while (since Mum's funeral) and it prompted me to reach out and say Hi. I remember the first time we worked with the RAAF (Air ...

Dad sent me down a couple of photos, amongst them was this. Fun days hanging on the end of a winch cable with nothing but the loop under your arms... It was a multi-agency rescue demo at Bathurst Ag Show in 87 or 88. Surf Rescue (us) 5 Sqn RAAF SES Flood Boats NSW RVCP They'd start by throwing thund...

Re: Just Another MONDAY @ the MSC
Only 2" of rain overnight.
We might get a brief respite after a bit of a predicted deluge today.
So far 16.5" since Thursday.
The entire east coast of the state is under Severe Weather and Flood Warnings.
Edit to add:
Our long term rainfall average for March is a bit under 6".

Re: Really Late Opening SUNDAY @ the MSC
Morning. Still tipping down. Evacuations going on all over the state, with even more rain to come. So it turns out that allowing massive residential developments on floodplains that, get this, flood regularly is turning out to be a dumb idea. Who woulda thunk that? Well the politicians who pander t...

So to add to the weather disruptions here, we also have the painter in.
Looks like the paint company has changed the formula of the colour we have been using.
So I guess we're getting a new colour now.

Re: Welcome to Spring SATURDAY@ the MSC
Just cleared the rain gauge.
128.5mm (a bit over 5") 7am to 7am. So that is 274.5mm (10.5") over the past 3 days.
Another 100mm (4") forecast for today.
I am beginning to miss the drought.

It's just before 4AM. I've been up for a while as the heavy rain keeps coming. I am struggling to get any sleep as I have to keep get up to check the drains. I am over this.
