“Unconventional” may be a better term. Friday/Sunday shows, the Eagles, stadium shows, etc.

Re: Confirmed 2018 Tour/Show Dates - Updated 02-15-18
This tour schedule is pretty awful so far.

Re: Alpine Reopening
Just for reference, the 9/3/2016 show was officially announced on April 9th of that year.

Re: Alpine Reopening
I think there’s still hope for Alpine. There’s no way he’s going to draw 43,000 at Wrigley on a Friday. It’s certainly not going to pull in the Wisconsin crowd and it’s not going to pull in the Chicago crowd who will make the drive to Alpine anyway. July 14th at Wrigley is Def Leppard/Journey. They...

Re: Wrigley Field 2018
This is just karma coming back to bite everybody who complains about Tinley. Wrigley sucks.

Re: Tinley Park or St Louis
Huey Lewis has been announced for Taste of Joliet on Friday, June 22. Isn’t he also opening for Buffett again on certain dates? This lines up closely with the usual Tinley weekend of June 23.

Re: Tinley Park or St Louis
Here’s what we know right now... He’s got Eagles dates on the 28th/30th of June in Denver and Minneapolis. June 23rd is the same weekend he has played at Tinley in the post-Toyota Park years. Tinley has concerts announced for July 7th and 14th. Chesney is July 28th, so that out. So if it’s Tinley, I...

Re: Fenway 2018 (ugh)
Exact same situation we’re in our in Chicago. No tailgating at Wrigley, overpriced/overcrowded bars, poor sound, poor sightlines. But (and maybe the World Series win had something to do with it), he sold out Wrigley at a capacity of ~43,000, whereas the outdoor venues in the suburbs can seat 28-30,0...

Margaritaville Key West Resort and Marina
Got a chance to stay at Margaritaville Key West Resort and Marina recently, and man: what a complete rip-off. This place is dirty, dingy, and dated, but not in the fun Key West way, but more like the “this place opened in the mid-90s and absolutely nothing was done to keep it up speed” way. I seriou...

Re: A Florida Keys update
Just got back from the Keys. Key West is pretty much business as usual. Islamorada looks fairly decent, as does Key Largo, but Largo still has a good deal of tree debris on the side of US1. Saddlebunch through Marathon is still a mess. Big Pine and Ohio Keys are particularly bad and people are still...

Re: Alpine Reopening
He did mention that he will be back to Wrigley this summer... Really? That’s disappointing. The tickets were overpriced and hard to get, the seating layout is awful, the crowd sucks, traffic was a nightmare even by Chicago standards, and the bar scene comes nowhere close to making up for no tailgat...

Re: Key West 2018
I have never been to KW before so I obviously don't know the area nor the ins and outs of where to stay and how to get around. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated. I knew KW was a little "spendy" as they say but my 15 minutes of research was an eye opener (a little pun to myself as I...

Re: Jones Beach concert not sold out
I have no problem with the standards. If you're good and hammered like you should be, the standards are fun. Problem is, it seems like the number of standards has increased dramatically. I count eight standards: Margaritaville, Fins, Come Monday Pirate, Cheeseburger, Changes, Volcano, Son of a Son. ...

Re: 07.15.2017 - Chicago, IL
Disatvantages: The audio on Jimmy was somewhat garbled. Couldn't understand him when talking, but while singing it was mostly OK. Also, we couldn't see the stage treatments behind the band. I was on the lower level near 1st base and could make out about every third word he was saying between songs....

Re: Is this how you show appreciation to your fans?
Well to be fair, most people at Wrigley were opting for the $10 water that said "Bud Light" on the side and not the $6 Aquafina.
