Re: No Vacation For Jimmy
Has anyone else noticed that this summers schedule doesn't give JB his usual time off? Don't have a clue what it means, but thought it was abnormal..as are some other things Late Tour Announcements. (delay from fall?) No 2 show venues. (ticket sales?) Venues he hasn't played in years. (additional p...

Re: Destin where to stay and what to do
I phriends I'm planning a fall trip for the family and am considering Destin Florida this year. Last year I received great info here from you all about Sanibel Island so the bar is set high. Each year we try to go somewhere we have never been and have heard good things about Destin. We are travelin...

Re: The Chieftains
I will be seeing them on 3/3 in Chicago. Love them.
I strongly recommend everyone listens to Irish Heartbeat Van Morrison with the Chieftains as a St. Patrick's Day prep course.

Re: How do Bands get paid?
It really depends on the group/band. Most of the Coral Reefers are "hired" players. It's Jimmy's deal and they work for him. They tend to have a contract paying them either per performance or an set time frame. Most of the Coral Reefers get a nice stable income, and it allows them to follo...

Happens a lot. Sometimes after hearing a tune live. Random play from the music library helps too. Off to See the Lizard is a great album to listen to from start to finish. Have you read Tales From Margaritaville? Hey Weirdo!!!! (Love that SN!!!!) I have read Pirate's Looks at Fifty but not Tales of...

As the Grand High Poobah of all Parrotdom approaches an age when other stars start fading into the twilight am I crazy by thinking that he is really just picking up steam and his whole body of work is getting bigger with more fans than ever? Re: 2010 NCAA Football
I'll watch the championship game, but don't have much interest in most of the others. If the other big bowls were part of a playoff, I'd watch all of them. Are you listening, BCS? I'm nearly the opposite, I LOVE the bowl games with a passion. Plenty of great matchups out there. LSU/A&M, MSU/Bam...

Re: 2010 NCAA Football
If anyone can look me in the eye and honestly make a case why anyone from the Big East belongs in a BCS game I will buy you a beer. The Automatic bids is the BS in the BSC. it's funny how the NCAA wants the basketball money from the big east....other then the ACC probably the most dominating conf i...

Re: 2010 NCAA Football
The BCS is a fraud and a rigged carnival game. MSU -strongest schedule of 3 co champs - 11-1, 6-1 record - Soundly beat Wussconsin, who beat OSU yet MSU will be left out of any BCS bowl game...........which is exactly what Dan Wetzel said would happen because the BCS is rigged. I said a month ago t...

Re: Bratwurst: how do YOU cook them?
I simmer (never boil) the brats in a little bit of water + 2 beers and onions. After about 7-10 mins, I move them to the grill and cook on direct heat. That is it for me. Some people do a grill first and then continue to simmer them in a pan of beer and onions.
