Does it seem odd that Far Side Of The World and Buffet Hotel hasn't been issued on vinyl? T,TH,S, License To Chill, Take The Weather With You and Songs From St Somewhere are the only vinyl issues. That I've seen anyway.

Re: If you could keep one cover song.
Not when you consider it's not written by Garth Brooks! The demo he did is the "original version" since the songwriters only had it down on napkins and his album version is considered the original but Mark Chesnutt did a version of it as well. Both came out in 1990 - and based on his singi...

Re: If you could keep one cover song.
That is your opinion bud. It's simple if you look at it this way: if it's not written by the person singing it, it's a cover. I don't understand how you think that songs that Jimmy did that were written as well as recorded by other people are not covers! That may be your opinion but it's wro...

Re: Buffett Question
According to some articles they were going to GoldenEye, the place Chris Blackwell bought that was formerly owned by Ian Fleming, which is in Oracabessa in St Mary Parish, east of Ocho Rios - no where near West End as articles somehow tend to say. Yet from most articles that mention a place they alw...

Re: New Christmas Album track list
I just can't get excited about this album. Jimmy's already done a Christmas album, and it's ok. We did buy the Coral Reefer Christmas album a few years ago as well. I just don't know if I need another Buffett Christmas album. It's like him doing another live album of all the yellow CD songs. We all...

So many good ones from the 1970s: Defying Gravity, Banana Republics, Big Rig, Stories We Could Tell, Ballad Of Spider John, Coast Of Marseilles, The Last Line, This Hotel Room, Biloxi, Dallas, Makin' Music For Money, Lovely Cruise. A handful of good ones from the 1980s: Stars Fell On Alabama, Why Y...

Re: Vinyl - question
I know this is OT and I have no idea why it even happened but there are reissues of the Margaritaville/MCA LPs on CD with black and white liner notes or if I remember correctly none at all! Certainly the original pressings didn't sell out since they usually make 800 gazillion original copies.

Hilarious:
The sandy-haired singer with his permanently sun-burnt skin, distinctive moustache and long flowing locks was born some twenty-nine years ago in Mobile, Alabama.

Re: Jimmy Buffett and Tortuga Fest
The only way a 4th annual anything can happen is in its 5th year. The 4th annual anything is in the 4th year, that's why it's called 4th annual. 1st year - Inaugural (there's no such thing as 1st Annual because an event can't be "annual" until there's a second one) 2nd year - 2nd Annual 3...

You're right - but only in the amount of years it's been happening. 2017 is the 4th annual Tortuga Fest. The only way a 4th annual anything can happen is in its 5th year.RIPH wrote:April 2013 we were conversing with Mac at Tortuga. I know math sux, but 2017 marks year 5.

Re: M'ville New Orleans
Although I can't claim anything as fact I think part of the reason they left the location was they weren't making enough money. It wasn't exactly a local's place and the food was pedestrian at best, and in New Orleans, if you want locals, well, you need to have good food. Yeah the rent went up but i...

Re: M'ville New Orleans
From what I know the location at Jax Brewery on the top floor, which would've been outstanding, is not happening and there is the possibility of buying a rather small parking lot at Conti and Decatur to build a place that's been put on hold. Parking isn't an issue since it's the French Quarter but b...

Before he played Pine Knob near Detroit he played at Meadow Brook Ampitheatre, which is sort of near The Palace and even further away from Pine Knob. Meadow Brook, Really? Never would have imagined that. Can remember when he did multiple dates at P.K. Of course I wasn't sophisticated enough at that...
