Re: Alpine Reopening

For our group, the cutoff date for the announcement is "tax day". If there's nothing by that time everyone is moving forward with summer assuming there is no Alpine date.

Re: Alpine Reopening

Best thing you ever saw at a Jimmy show at Alpine Valley and hope to see this year?
The ambulance giving margaritas via a drip bag while you laid on a gurney.

Re: Alpine Reopening

Wouldn't it be in Jimmy's best interest with regards to the Wrigley show to come right out and announce there is NO Alpine Valley show so for those AV few who might then buy tickets for Wrigley do so?

Re: Alpine Reopening

Peter Mayer is scheduled to play Clear Lake, Iowa on September 1st according to his website so unless he can be in two places at one time I don't see the September 1st date happening.

Re: Alpine Reopening

Do you people just go to show's for the get together before? is the show is just a added bonus? If you want to go party so bad in Alpines parking lot why not buy Zac Brown or Dead and CO tickets. You all need to know how the whole dedication thing works. A couple of things first off it is not tailg...

Re: Alpine Reopening

Maybe Wrigley not selling is a sign of the times. Fenway isn't selling either. When a quarter or more of the set list at almost every show is cover tunes, it could be that people are tired of seeing what's rapidly becoming a lounge act. I became a Jimmy Buffett fan because I like Jimmy Buffett musi...

Re: Alpine Reopening

I’m still PRAYING for Alpine. The second leg of the tour (August-Labor Day) still only has two shows: Saturday, August 4th-Virginia Thursday, August 9th- Boston That leaves the following Saturday’s open: August 11th-Although Zac Brown is at Alpine that weekend August 18th August 25th September 1st I...

Re: Alpine Reopening

Sadly our group of about 24 is moving ahead as if Wrigley has "stolen" the Alpine show. We haven't heard anything since the Wrigley announcement to think otherwise. None of our flock has any intention of going to Wrigley for the show. I'm going to guess that most of those that do Alpine an...

Re: Alpine Reopening

If there is no intention of an Alpine date this year it would be considerate and kind for Jimmy or his PR people to just let us know so we can go ahead and begin planning our summer. An announcement of such would at least show some empathy for the fans in the area that have supported his visits to S...

Re: Alpine Reopening

I know I've read before that Wrigley always puts a no-compete clause in their contracts, and that Alpine falls under that clause. That's what I've heard when Buffett played there, as well as Zac Brown Band, who opted to go to Milwaukee which presumably is outside the no-compete area. Does anyone he...

Re: Alpine Reopening

What a terribly depressing announcement. Now it looks like I can add 2018 to 2005 and 2017 in my list of wrecked summers.

Re: Buffett and The Eagles

As long as the show is at Alpine Valley and The Eagles open ala Huey Lewis and then step aside once we all decide to go in for the 27 song sing-along setlist then I'd be okay with it
