Look closely at the charts again... HGL didn't move at all on the Radio & Records or All About Country charts. They held the same position as last week - 12 and 11 respectively. The song only moved on the Billboard charts. I'm sure competition from above is keeping the single from moving up fast...

Buffett To Play Late Show Friday

Jimmy Buffett will play the CBS Late Show With David Letterman this Friday following his morning appearance on the NBC Today Show.

Update: This rumor is not yet confirmed. Sorry but more than likely it won't happen.

Not so long ago I heard Mailboat was going to release a live recording from Hawaii. And then there was a maddening rumor about Jimmy publishing a new book. That one was wild. Hell, even Amazon.com fell for that rumor. Oh yeah...and the bat. When he bit the head...wait a second. Nevermind. Crazy stuff!

Doubt it will happen...we already know the footage from Hawaii is going to be released on DVD. I doubt they'd pour money and resources into two CD/DVD combo packages. Now, the big question is when are we ever going to see Live In Hawaii??? Mailboat is now saying it will certainly be well after LTC's...

After stalling at #16 last week, "Hey Good Lookin'" continues its chart climb this week, moving to #11 on the All About Country Hot 40.

"Hey Good Lookin'" moves to #15, up from #16, on this week's Radio & Records country survey. It is third in increased plays (+388).

I hear similar stories with every band of which I'm a fan.... I offer a perfect recent example: "I'm not going to listen to Phish's new album because they broke up and left us hanging. It's not fair and I'm protesting." Fine. Its a great disc though - perhaps their strongest studio effort....

Carter Finley Stadium in '98. At least I think Buffett played. I had trouble seeing him through the monsoon.

And, that was one of the few times (twice maybe?) that I was in a college football stadium.

Its interesting to note that not one of us yet has named two things that would help us get off the island. Only Parrotheads :-) Maybe we don't want to leave the island. That's what I meant! I didn't want to leave either. Its just most other people - non-Parrotheads - would probably have said a life...
