Re: Top Ten worst songs
I'll have to give it some thought to come up with 10 but off the top of my head: Too Drunk To Write A Good Song Useless And Important Information A Lot To Drink About Turn Up The Heat And Chill The Rose' Cussin' Island WDWGD, Math Suks, Too Drunk to Karaoke and Cussin' Island are a clear top four w...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
Why would Buffett's first concert back be a monumental occasion to the point that he'd sell CD's of the show. That is comical, I've been a fan since my first show when I was 17 in 1993 and would have zero interest in a CD like this, nobody would. Who cares about his first show back? There would be ...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
Why would any musician go out on the road if they're going to lose money? Jimmy Buffett already has more money than 99% of all other individuals on this planet. At this point in his career, he doesn't personally need most of the money that he earns from touring. The reason he keeps on touring is be...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
^^^ Buffett has struggled to sellout out most of his shows the last several years. It is why he cut back on doing multiple shows in one location. People used to go who really didn't know much about Buffett, they went for the party and the tailgating. Over the last several years more and country cro...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
I don't see Buffett doing any shows unless venues are open at 100% capacity. Without a full house, or as close as he can get to a full house, it's a money loser. Why would any musician go out on the road if they're going to lose money? Disagree. Wouldn't a show at a 70% capacity venue bring in far ...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
If he isn’t planning on touring until after August 7th (because the Virginia show isn’t happening) then it’s doubtful he actually plays the 3 remaining “summer” dates after: Jones Beach, Camden, Great Woods. Then in September there are two Red Rock shows. That’s it before Europe. Very doubtful Euro...

Re: Margaritaville coming to Boston
Hi heard yesterday that it's going to be in Faneuil Hall. My brother bid on the project, I guess they want to draw people back to that area. The Seaport area has taken some crowds away from there. Mystery solved! Do you happen to know when construction is set to begin, or when the target date is fo...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
After being quarantined for about a year, I highly doubt many people are thinking "the first thing I want to do is go see a Jimmy Buffett concert." That statement is accurate, in the sense that most people wouldn't want to go out and actually attend a Jimmy Buffett concert right now or ev...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
Exactly my point. “Significant amount of doubt.” Jimmy knows if he is touring or not. So I’ll ask again . . . why don’t the fans know? If he communicated that with us, while telling us of all his worldly travels on social media, there wouldn’t be any doubt. In summary . . . end the doubt Jimmy. Res...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
As far as I’m aware there hasn’t been any update to the 2021 tour. We are less than 8 weeks away from the Spring shows and I think they are still scheduled to take place. I think it’s fair to say these shows won’t happen as scheduled much like last year. The question, much like last year, is why ar...

Buffett's concerts truly are a magic kind of medicine that no doctor could prescribe. We have to keep thinking positively and hope they will return by this fall.C4Parrothead wrote: ↑July 27, 2020 8:04 am COVID has changed my views on this stuff. Never wanted & needed a Buffett concert so badly!

Re: What're Some Songs Jimmy Should Cover?
Here's a song Jimmy covered a long, long time ago (1992) that should be brought back: Rivers of Babylon. It would be great to hear Nadirah Shakoor perform that song one more time between now and whenever he eventually stops touring. Boney M's version is the best.

Re: What're Some Songs Jimmy Should Cover?
All Night Long was so much better than I expected, I love it. I was already a Lionel fan, so maybe that helped. All Night Long is the only solo song by Lionel that I really like (otherwise not a huge fan). Buffett's cover of it in 2012 was absolutely perfect- it fit so well with the atmosphere of t...

Re: Margaritaville coming to Boston
Another neat idea (which would probably never happen) would be to have a Mville location on the South Shore near Nantasket Beach. That way it would still be close enough to downtown Boston, but also right on the water.

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
Thanks for the insight Patrick. You are right though , they may be awful this year. I don't get the Benintedi trade. I think the guy will be a star , and it wasn't like he was costing them money for the next few years. Very disappointed. The Mitch Moreland trade back in August didn't make sense eit...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
I like Fenway on a Sunday in the summer especially during an afternoon game. Red Sox v. Yankees Sunday night on ESPN are the worst. Give me a barely televised Red Sox game at 1pm on a sunny day in June or July on a Sunday and it’s perfect. Drink a beer in the bleachers. Watch some baseball. Find a ...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
The team is hemorrhaging money and they are down a significant number of season ticket holders since 2018 part is the pandemic and part is the quality and direction of the team. They have about 18K season ticket holders now, down from about 25K just a few years ago. This played a part in allowing m...

Re: Margaritaville coming to Boston
The only problem with that is, it's not a destination place like Boston. Couldn't agree more. I'm a huge fan of Boston sports in general (Red Sox, Bruins, BU) but never really liked the Patriots as much as the other Boston teams. It would make sense to put it there just because it's close to Great ...

Re: Margaritaville coming to Boston
If I had to guess, it will be in the Seaport area. I'm not sure if anything went into Jerry Remy's place or Whiskey and the Priest. Water views. That would definitely make sense but then again, they emphasized water views when choosing their location within Mohegan Sun and that didn't work out so w...

Re: “Rescheduled” Buffett
Someone that knows someone that knows someone said no European shows this year. :D :D :D The plot thickens. Those April and May dates are strongly in doubt too. Late August or September seems to be the most likely time shows will return....unless the new variants/strains of the virus prove to be to...
