Refer back to the Criminal vs. Civil structure. Criminal is "beyond a reasonable doubt" and Civil is by a "preponderance". There's a good point to be made that Bryant's accuser stands a better chance of success in a civil trial. I understand that. I'm just pointing out the irony.

He can't prove she said "Yes". She can't prove she said "No". Therefore, no reasonable doubt = no conviction. Not if you are a celebrity in this society! Guilty until proven innocent. OJ was innocent. In the eyes of the US Government, he was NOT guilty. A court of LAW said so. Y...

I have been on record here as disagreeing with the rape shield law that protects (or should have) her identity and stand by that. But regardless of her history, if she said no, that is all that matters so her history should not be relevant. I wrote this earlier....you might want to re-read it. THIS...

I like both bands, but Zeppelin wins hands down for me. For me it's about the artistry and the thoughtfulness they put into their lyrics.

Re: Bryant accuser to drop charges?

I just have to pipe in here. Regardless of how many tens, hundreds, or even thousands of men this woman slept with in the past - if she said NO for any reason, that's rape. It's no better for a man to force himself on someone who's ...ahem...experienced than it is to do so upon a virgin. Period. Th...

Bryant accuser to drop charges?

It is being reported that Kobe Bryant's accuser might drop the criminal charges against him, and simply pursue a civil case. Her reasoning is that she doesn't want her sexual history made public. My take: It sounds like she realizes that with this information being made a part of the case, she knows...

Refreshing....a Cowboy's player fails a drug test, and he gets cut!! In the past, he would have received a bonus!!!! For those who missed it, Quincy Carter, the starting QB for the Cowboys was waived today for "undisclosed" reasons. It has been widely reported that he failed a drug test, p...

I don't think that Eli will be as good as Peyton, so I think that Rivers was a better pick for the Chargers, IF they ever sign him. I was disappointed in the Rivers deal. Once it became apparant that they weren't going to be able to keep Eli, I would have preferred they went and got a WR. Rivers is...

Ray Lewis is one of the few players that genuinely scares me. I wish he'd stop his choreographed entrances onto the field. Not just him, but all those other bozos who feel the need to preen for the crowd. Let your playing do the talking. During the game, I really don't care. Just keep it off the da...

Make no mistake, one look at Eddie George and there's nothing ordinary about him. He's the biggest back on the team. He's one of the most productive rushers in league history, running for more than 10,000 career yards, which ranks 17th on the all-time list. :pirate: You can say most of the same thi...

Re: The 2004 NFL Thread

They finally have a running back (Corey Dillon) that can hit holes. Sometimes it's about more than what he brings to the field. Last year, the Pats defined "TEAM". Now they brought in the most selfish player in the NFL. He'll be a cancer, and he'll do more hidden harm than obvious good.

Live in Milwaukee. Last year, Harley-Davidson celebrated their 100th anniversery with the largest bike rally in history! A week of celebration, including a huge "surprise" concert on Saturday night down by the lake. (At the 95th, it was ZZTop.). For the concert...they booked Elton John. Do...

George has also never rushed behind as good an offensive line as the Cowboys. We're not as good up front as in years past, but good enough to add a yard to George's average. Good point on the schedule, but we still get to play a handful of games against the NFC Least. The Redskins are the only real...
