Bummer. I saw them twice. First time in Phoenix, at the Celebrity Theater, 1999 or 2000. Less than 1500 people, it was incredible. The mandolin player [Michael?] was still playing a very bluegrass style back then. They had a really neat way of covering tunes in a tremendously unique and fun manner. ...

A little known way of getting around is the new 'Deuce' busses, $5 for a 24 hour pass...Beats those dang cab lines. What are the Deuce busses? http://www.rtcsnv.com/deuce/ Basically just the city busses that run up and down the Strip. Not good for to and from the airport, but great if you want to h...

No, the end of the building facing the picture is all cleaned up. I know, I walk by it every day! ....i walk by it every day... hmph. Many words come to mind, several not so complimentary. But, more power to ya!!! Do you walk by every day on your way to Schooner's Wharf? Is the Western Union ...

That's pretty groovy! Especially if that is indeed what he plays. I'm no palm tree expert, but it kinda looks like it's pictured getting a pretty good breeze, the way the fronds are all blowing one way, and the tree is leaning into the prevailing wind...As a sailor, I love seeing pics that indicate ...

Anything that isn't banjo is good. [lol, that's from a mandolin player...in bluegrass, everybody picks on the banjo....even the banjo!] A group of terrorists captured a busload of banjo players. They threatened to release one every hour until their demands were met.     :l...

I'm likin it too, but do agree that his talking/not singing parts are a little blah...I particularly like the drums...A driving sort of beat... I think I like it because I'm listening to it not just for the singing/talking but for the entire musical experience. I agree on the drums, and the driving...

If you like Buffett's Wheel, you'll love the original by Mary Gauthier on her Mercy Now album. Same for the original version of Elvis Presley Blues by Gillian Welch from Time (the Revelator) and Guy Clark's Cinco de Mayo in Memphis from his new album Workbench Songs. REALLY!!!!! How cool, had no id...

Re: My first trip to Vegas

Also, since there are 2 of you, it will be the same price and much, much faster to take a cab than the airport shuttle. Depending on where you are staying, tell the cabbie to take the side streets through town and not the interstate. Usually about $15 to the Strip through town and $25 on the inters...

Glad y'all like that CheapoVegas site, got to meet the writers of it one time, downtown, at the Gold Spike. Let's see...all above have had good suggestions. Red Rock is the state park just west of vegas, valley of fire is north, both are pretty cool, Red Rock is closer. If you're going to splurge on...
