I am a Paramedic in Boise, Idaho. We just recieved a memo today that a local gang has declared October 31, 2005 "Kill a cop night". I work on Holloween this year. Hope I don't have to respond to any officers down- been there, done that and it sucks. Everyone stay safe out there and, altho...

Just finished Northern Lights by Nora Roberts. Set it Alaska. Was pretty good. Now am reading River of Lakes, A Journey on Florida's St. Johns River by Bill Belleville. Non-fiction about Florida's longest river (flows south to north). I live about 5 miles from the St. Johns in Volusia County FL.

From what I've seen, parents of today (especially the 20-something children of children) are much worse. I think a lot of the 20 something parents...are still children themselves...maybe part of the problem?? I'm hopeful when (if) my boys have children they will be more strict with their children. ...

Neither saved money over the summer though they both worked alot. I'll make sure they don't starve, their car is insured and they have a cell phon...

I'm probably toughest on my boys about personal responsibility. I want them to be able to support themselves and have lives that they can be proud of. I don't want them making excuses for bad behavior. It's ok around here to make mistakes. Just own up to them, apologize, fix it and move on. When I ...
