But let's not forget Lord Buckley, Conway Twitty, and the likes of the Mighty Sparrow and Lord Kitchener.

I think...the artist that made all the difference and made JB from a Folkie who dug the stuff coming out of New Orleans to who he is--was Harry Belafonte. In large part. When you think about JB took what Harry Belafonte was doing and incorporated a LOT of that sound into his signature style. I have ...

Well.
Jack Johnson is a great writer, and I think the chances of JB and he playing together is great...maybe not in 2008.
But it's definitely going to happen. Jack Johnson to me is Jimmy Buffett with more hair.

I actually think this is a damn good idea.
It's just they picked the WRONG songs.
Good lullabye songs of JB would be Dreamsicle, Stars Fell on Alabama (by Mitchell & Parrish), Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants, Jolly Mon, Island, Happily Ever After (Every Now and Then).
They got the wrong songs!

Garth Brooks has a good song called "Two Pina Coladas", it actually sounds more like a JB song then a Garth Brooks song. I wouldn't mind hearing a cover of that. Actually I felt that should have been a Buffett song all along. That would be a kicker for him to remake :D :D It was originall...

Not sure if he has ever done so but what about Jimmy covering or remaking some Allman Brothers songs? Statesboro Blues, Ramblin Man and Blue Sky seem like songs that would be good coming from Jimmy. WOW! Now that is a great choice....I would LOVE to hear him do Blue Sky. He would do that well. He a...

Hello. I have the notion that JB used Eng's book to recollect facts and conjure up memories for his autobiography/travelogue A Pirate Looks at Fifty. There are a few business ideas that I believe JB may have glommed from the book. Can't blame him. C'mon, if someone wrote a book about you--you'd read...

If you like poetry, I highly recommend Steve Eng's book Yellow Rider and Other Fantasy Poems. Very gothic, a bit spooky, but good stuff.
Eng was also a songwriter.
Anybody know where Savannah Jane was born?

Irving Azoff.
I am very fascinated in "behind the scenes" type stuff. The stories in the book about JB's former manager Irving Azoff are PRICELESS. I really think that it was Azoff (with JB) that got him going. Then I think the merchandising The Coconut Telegraph , Margaritaville Stores, circa 1985-Pres...

Steve Eng's book.
In my humble opinion the book is wonderfully written and EXTREMELY thoroughly researched. I know this is not the popular opinion, but I view Steve Eng as a man who was doing his job. As a journalist, he is great. As a Poet, Eng is also quite gifted. He began working on a book about Nashville, which ...
