Please..... file sharing is not the main reason for the labels' woes. A bad economy coupled with $20 cds, crappy new artists, and bad decision making overall. I have little sympathy for the companies. They conspired to keep cds prices high. While I appreciate that promoting records costs money, but ...

They came out with all of the MCA pre-cd albums in the 80s. It is unfortuante that nearly 20 years later, they have not updated the packaging. It's awful, MCA is not a small company, they in fact UNIVERSAL RECORDS, one of the biggest if not the biggest record "label" out there (and quite a...

I have to say that this is a strong album. As for the Hokey Pokey, it is a FUN song and it sounds good. Autour du Rocher is a nice diversion from his typical style and some of the others are solid song writing. Simple? Yeah, but it largely works. Actually some of the singer-songwriter stuff should t...

Tiki Bar/John Hiatt

While I haven't been able to spend enough time on this site to notice, I just wanted to say that the "Tiki Bar" song is a great John Hiatt one from the (same titled) cd released about 2 years ago. The original is a good and I would recommend picking up his cd "Bring the Family."

I realize that it's inexpensive, but why not put out a worthwhile 2 hour dvd? why several (or any) brief discs. It makes no real sense other than making money. It would be nice if the videos tape came out on disc and additionally had extras that weren't able to put on the tape.

I think One Particular Harbour is one of the best though I do not have his first few albums. For this subject, I assumed it was meant studio album, not live album, but I noticed several mentions of live albums, to me they are different, but it's all Buffett and all good. I just picked up Vegas and am...

Oh com eone "babys gone shoppin'" doesn't s***. I think it's fun to hear Buffett do an upbeat kinda pop/r&b tune. actually other than "That's what living is to me" I really don't care for the second half, it' sthe first half (with the exceptio of the opening song) that is str...

Creola makes you cringe, man that hurts. I can see someone not liking Bidness, but Creola is sounds good, laidback vocals, good sound... just my opinion though....

I LOVE Floridays The title song, "Nobody speaks to the captain no more" - classic Buffett, Crealo and First Look... great songs, and none of the others are bad either, generally good stuff I do think Hot Water is underrated! "Bring Back the Magic" "Pre-You" and "Th...

I chenge it up sometimes, but I have ideas that start similar to the box set but then go off in different directions. My disc 1 has some of my upbeat favorites: 1 stars on the water 2 fins 3 desperation samba 4 pascagoula run 5 cuban crime of passion 6 when salome plays the drum 7 on particular harb...

I really consider this to be a Buffett sampler... I realize that none of us would be satified with the song selection as being all of our favorites, but this is not the best of Buffett. it does have a good amount of the "essentials" I am wondering why so many rerecordings and live cuts tho...

I enjoy this one a lot - the title song and Nobody Speaks to the Captain no more are solid songs that put a contemporary sound on his classic 70s story songs. I love the tempo of Creola and he sounds great too. If Jimmy got radio play, then First Look would have been a hit.... just some very good so...

Hot Water is a decent album. The opening track and the last few are not that memorable to me, but Bring Back the Magic, Pre-You, and Prince of Tides are well worth getting this disc for - My Barricuda is a decent smooth/bluesy tune with some great vocal help from the Nevilles. Different for Jimmy bu...
