Oh hwo quickly we all have become removed from our struggling grandparents who came from abroad and worked hard and yes had unions to help make life a little bit more fair from immoral corporations. How quickly indeed. Always union bashing. Not too many threads about corporate wellfare or wrongdoing...

Hmmm. I don't know about others, but I was excited to see Jimmy on what I hope will be a nice summer night on the North Shore, watching Jimmy play with the Golden Triangle in the background. What more could you ask for? :D

People may like mp3s, but they aren't good quality and I don't want "music" folder on my PC of Buffett. I want a quality collection of music of Buffett. I know others do too - remasters of older catalog titles come out all the time - there is a market. Hell there is a market for vinyl so t...

The quality of the 70s and 80s releases bothers me greatly. I bought Meet Me... for the specific reason of getting remaster quality versions of at least some songs though it was very irritating to me that he included a ridiculous number of live versions of songs and "new" versions. In actu...

The DCSS show was the one in the thunderstorm with knee-deep mud. I was at that show. I never experienced so much mud in my life. It was mud topped with what seemed like a foot of water. What a mess, but still what a blast. I believe that he ended the show with the Stones' "You can't always ge...

Help!

I just saw this thread. I tried to sort through it to figure this out, but what's the deal? Was this a special deal for a limited # of seats? Is it still on? When do tickets "really" go on sale. PNC Park that is incredible.

but I found myself feeling bad for him at times during the debate with all of the long pauses, puzzled looks, using the words "hard work" repeatedly without any detail. It's like he ran out of material and just kept repeating catch phrases. Sorry, but I don't feel bad for him at all. He h...

I got the cd on Tuesday and have been enjoying it since.... while some of the tunes were recorded by the Beach Boys in the late 60s, this still works... and while there can never be a version of Good Vibrations that will match the original with Carl wilson on lead, this is certainly great (and just ...

Yeah, there was a reference to being a parrotheard 8 years before it was cool." I don't get it. What was so wrong about this statement? To new country music station listeners, Jimmy is kind of new, having hit the charts last summer with Al jackson and again this summer, so many ar probably dis...

It's an idiotic statement from Alice. Politics and social issues have always been a part of music. And this is isn't necessarily _insert rock star name here_ saying "vote for so and so" it's more of we think this is bad for this reason, or this is good for this reason etc, now this should ...

This is not new for Buffett. He simply has concerns about the world around him, just like many of us who don't record and sing. Many feel particularly compelled to act now because of the current administration. At least maybe something other than a White House Press release or GOP talking point migh...

My dad owns Van's "The Best of" greatest hits comp from the 90s, but from what I have read, compilations are not the way to go with Van, as he goes into the studio setting out to make an album, not just a collection of songs. My dad also owns The Healing Game. I have high intrest in getti...

Both of those labels are under Warner.

I don't know if you have any of the classic Beach Boys stuff, but if not, there are musts, starting with Pet Sounds through Holland. All have some really cool tunes.

Brian Wilson is great and I would recommend any of the solo albums. The latest, Gettin' in over my Head is no exception. He is a genious with pop music and sometimes quirky as well. It's such a fun album. I have always been disappointed that Warner never really promoted any of his solo stuff much, i...

regardless of what Moore's movie is classified as, it still has plenty of facts. To be quite honest, I don't think there is much of anything factual that isn't common knowledge, just it's not common in terms of getting picked up through constant Peterson, Kobe trial BS and other Mcnews.
