Re: The Lawyer and the ***hole
No this was not cut from Havana DayDreaming, this was Jimmy's response to being sued for his recording of God's Own Drunk. He was sued by the estate of Lord Buckley and temporarily prohibited from preforming the song. The songs cut from HD were: Train to Dixieland Drunken Girlfriend Wonder why we e...

Re: The Lawyer and the ***hole
Thanks, guys.
I think it's funny that an artist has so many songs that were either never released or are so rare that they're only available on underground, bootlegged copies, but that so many fans know about.
Still kind of partial to "Please Take Your Fifteen Year Old Girlfriend Home".

Re: Jimmy gets political (blog link)
Anyhoo, back to the topic. I'm a conservative. If I stopped listening to artists because I disagreed with their politics, I would have any music to listen to at all. Most all of the artists I like are liberals. Some, like Steve Earle, are even Marxists. But I would rather judge their music on it's ...

Re: Nervous About Backstage Passes Help!!!
Ok guys so thanks so much for everyone's input. Here is a little summary of my experience. There were a couple negatives. First they did not let ANYBODY into the gates until 7pm even those of us with out pre-party passes. Secondly, and of course I knew it no Jimmy in sight, no Mac, Nadirah, and no ...

Re: Jimmy gets political (blog link)
as opposed to conservatives who never claim to honour peoples' difference in opinion and attack them by name-calling... pretty much the same outcome for the one being attacked. We've just got to stop playing the "Republicans vs Democrats" and conservatives vs liberals game. That's why our...

Re: Jimmy gets political (blog link)
The other problem is that political songs date themselves at a pretty quick rate. I doubt, for that reason alone, Jimmy would ever release it on a studio album. Maybe on a live album though. Maybe, but he also released a song about cell phones about fifteen years after cell phones stopped being a n...

I'm watching the first clip now. Boy, he looks uncomfortable. The look in his eyes clearly says, "OK, who got me into this and how the Hell do I get out?"

Re: How long have you been a Parrothead?
First saw Buffett in the late 70's at the Alabama State Fair. I loved the show and bought "Living and Dying in 3/4 Time", but was too young to really appreciate that album. My musical tastes hadn't really matured past KISS, but I kept the album and bought a couple more, mostly because my u...

Re: Sorry Mr. Chesney, nice show, but Buffett you aren't!!
Ok, so last Friday night I went to see Kenny Chesney at Merriweather in Maryland. I am sort of a country music fan, but not much. My wife is big time, and she wanted to go see Chesney, so a few of us went. I remembered seeing a thread on here somewhat recently about Chesney being the next Buffett. ...
