God Bless Gene Simmons (KISS)
Whether you're a fan of T. Tebow or not, Gene Simmons has some pretty valid points.... cool interview. "Without the Ten Commandments,” he pauses to note, “Jews gave you that,” and continues, “Without that, there’d be chaos. Somebody had to say, ‘Here are some good ideas: don’t steal, and don’t ...

Re: What is POTUSA Thinking?
Okay.... my somewhat cynical, and perhaps simplistic view of this situation? The POTUS uttered his "red line" bit about Syria a while back in an attempt to control a worsening crisis. That line though... either he didn't really think it through, or he believed he'd never have to make good ...

Re: The Affordable Care Act and YOU
One big thing that's only being mentioned now.... there is a HUGE incentive for companies to avoid giving people more than 29 hours of work per week. In actual practice, giving them 29 can put the company in jeopardy if OT happens, so... a lot of companies are actually cutting people back to 25 hour...

I was prepared to be disappointed.... but Thanks, Jimmy.
Well.... I finally got to listen to the album all the way through, and... I'm not disappointed. :D Few thoughts... I really liked the album title from the first moment I heard it. I love it when things tie to the past. As for the album content though.... started hearing track titles and thought oh %...

Re: Songs from St. S - Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) influence?
Thanks to all for the insights. Pretty cool stuff, if you ask me. I've been a Mark Knopfler fan since the 80s and it's awesome he and JB collaborate.
Man, I'd love to see Jimmy and Mark play those vintage guitars "live." Just thinking about it... wow.

Songs from St. S - Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) influence?
Just played the mp3 version of Songs from St. Somewhere. Had it on while I was working, so I didn't get to listen as close as I would have liked. That being said.... I caught a lot of interesting guitar work going on. If I understand correctly, Mark Knopfler (from Dire Straits, also soundtrack of Th...

Re: Special Hawaii Show
Okay.... just to mess with everybody, give a different perspective and satisfy my OCD impulses.... 27 songs, right? Jimmy has songs beginning with every letter of the alphabet except X and Z. So...... that's 24 songs tied to a letter of the alphabet, and I get to choose 3 bonus tracks. LOL. He...

Honestly, I've often thought Jimmy could do a pretty cool cover of "Let It Be." And I KNOW Peter Mayer could rip up the guitar parts.

Re: Sail on George Jones.......
Sail on George... I saw George Jones and Merle Haggard play at the State Fair back in 1989, and over the years heard him team up with a lot of greats for duets or other performances. Never was a huge huge fan, but always respected what he did. Any song he did, he made interesting and he made it his ...

Re: Driving from Fort Lauderdale to Key West.
We did this exact thing several years ago. Flew to Ft. Lauderdale, rented a convertible and drove to Key West. Awesome trip, but don't plan on "making good time." Traffic isn't that heavy, but the nature of two lane roads means that you can only go so fast. My big pieces of advice.... Spri...

Re: Hawaii Five-0.... disappointment
i didn't watch but how was Jimmy I thought he was.... "adequate +". He didn't try to overdo it. Just said his lines and let himself go a little bit left-over hippie. (Not a huge stretch, probably. LOL) Main contribution to the show was drinking a rice wine/snake blood concoction and jokin...

Hawaii Five-0.... disappointment
First a confession... I don't usually watch Hawaii Five-0. Tried it a couple of times, and enjoyed the episode with Jimmy's first appearance as Frank Bama, but never became a regular viewer. Last night though... c'mon man....... Seriously? I know the episode wasn't meant to be about Frank Bama, but ...

Kansas City? May 11 or ??
Just wondering if anybody had news/rumors about a show in Kansas City.... In the STL thread, there was some talk about May 11 for KC, but no solid info. Sure hope he puts KC on the schedule this year. The area around the venue has lots of places for food/fun/entertainment. Even though there's no act...

Greatest Set List of All Time?
Okay.... I've been wanting to do some kind of "ultimate" set list thing for a while now. You know, something where as a group, BN'ers could vote on 30 songs or so in an attempt to assemble the perfect show. Haven't figured out how exactly to do that one yet. :-? So instead, how about this?...

Re: JJ Abrams to direct Star Wars: Episode VII
As a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars, honestly, I'm pretty excited about this guy directing. I always liked (loved?) the Star Trek franchise and was VERY concerned about the re-boot. JJ Abrams did it masterfully. Kept a lot of the iconic feel, but gave it a fresh look and with the timeline diver...

The time you finally heard THAT SONG in concert!
Just posted in the "Songs you desperately want to hear on 2013 tour?" thread and it got me to thinking... Most of us have been to a few (many?) concerts. Was there a time you finally heard THAT song? The one you'd been hoping for for so long? I'd been hoping to hear Cowboy in the Jungle li...

Great thread! Now..... hmmmmm..... I finally heard Cowboy in the Jungle (one of my all-time favs) in concert a couple years ago. In 2013...... I still want to hear a few done "live"... Lady I Can't Explain Woman Goin' Crazy on Caroline Street Coast of Carolina Here We Are (Hoping..... :D )
