I have a love/hate relationship with this song. I love it, but I HATE it when it's the first song to play on my CD (Meet Me in Margaritaville, Beaches) and I have the volume fully turned up! (Truthfully to those who have done this, doesn't it just give you a "rude awakening". I kno...

The horns are by no means bad, I just long for the sound of the original. IMO it's just better that way, or maybe just cause I'm used to hearing it like that.

Overall: Awesome song, great writing. It deserved to be a hit, however, it certainly shouldn’t have been his biggest hit, let alone his only #1. So it’s a bit overrated when put into context. Studio version: Good recording, but way outplayed by radio stations who don’t seem to know that this and Com...

Love the song, love it live as well as the audience participation part, EXCEPT for the “Sailed off to Antigua” part, where I would like it better live if Jimmy would bring the energy down like he did back on Montserot in 79. I’ve got to say that because it’s my favorite part of the song and it is ro...

My brother used to think "Come Monday" was "Come on Babe" I used to think it was "Come on Dade", perhaps the name of some girl I guess. Though I never knew of one female with that name. I looked at the back of the CD case and woundered, "what is Come Monday&...

If anyone’s eyes catch copies of Van Morrison’s Moondance and/or His Band and The Street Choir where both each include gatefolds and lyric inserts, it would be much appreciated. Lots of art missing from those CD releases…

http://www.watchingyou.com/PIG.GIF  That's the thing with Mailboat releases. Just don't even bother finding release dates, They will only lie to you (or just give out a date before they even have any idea if the product will be ready by then or not), so just wait it out. It will come eventuall...

Another thing to remember that visiting each square inch of the planet requires much more physical movement then surfing the net, which you can do just sitting in a chair. Going to each spot on the earth will require you do stop and rest quite often, while sitting in a chair you can sit there much, ...

Which do you think it would take longer to cover?

So would it take longer to touch every square inch of the planet Earth or visit every webpage on the internet? What would everyone guess on this? I don’t have any scientific facts here or don’t know if anyone else does. Just though it would be a neat idea to see what people estimate the size of the ...

Exactly my point. Sure, the conventional greatest hits compilation is bound to be the best selling disc in any artists catalogue, due to their being way more casual fans (who only want a sample as well as the songs they hear on the radio) then there are those willing to take on a studio album or two...

What’s funny is their [Floridays and SYKBH] neighbors in chronological sequence. SYKBH is a good intro to the JB canon, but some people are just to dependant on it for Jimmy’s music, and they don’t advance their collections beyond that which is a shame. Floridays could have been a commercial hit/sin...

Can’t believe I never caught this, as I’ve listened to the song at a significant volume before, and my attention was focused nowhere else but the music. He must say it under his breath, really quick, or during a noisy part of the song I would imagine for the censors not to pick up on it. I’ll have t...

The selective arrogance continues …

There’s no such thing as a worthless article. An article you might or might not want to read at the time, yes, but there’s always at least someone here who does have interest in the articles posted. So, their not worthless.
