Van Halen was made with Dave, as he basically fronted the band as Eddie wanted. When Dave couldn't or wouldn't do that anymore that era was over. Later VH was really just Sammy Hagar with a better band but it wasn't really Van Halen. IMHO thats why Eddie wanted Sammy out. I think the VH boys need t...

They can go on calling themselves "Van Halen" because Edward Van Halen is the leader of that band, just ask Sam or Dave. I prefer Dave-era Van Halen. Sure, they had a string of hits and enjoyed their biggest commercial success when Sammy came on board but their sound shouldn't be confused...

I'm guessing the reason those albums include the graphics is because that is around the time vinyl was being phased out and CD sales were topping those of vinyl but that's just a guess.

*Some* people DID get behind Pearl Jam when they went up against Ticketmaster but they are a very powerful monoply, TOO powerful in fact. It sickens me to see how many people are willing to pay these outrageous prices for concert tickets, it just paves the way for more artists to start overcharging ...

This isn't really what I'd consider an "official" confirmation of their reunion since it's not coming from the band themselves but with that in mind, read on.... From Undercover.com: http://www.undercover.com.au/news/2004/mar04/20040323_vanhalen.html Van Halen Reunion Confirmed The world's...

Re: shania/columbus, buffett

the day before the columbus buffett show shania twain has a concert. a friend of mine said that shania is going to perform a couple of songs with buffett. is this true? God, I hope not. That would be a sure sign of the apocalypse. Shania may be easy on the eyes but I can't stand her "music&quo...

I don't think Buffett (or Kenny Chesney for that matter) have a patent on mixing island sounds with country but a good case could be made for Buffett at least being one of the innovaters. Just look at all the pale imitations that followed the overwhelming success of "Margaritaville" back i...

I grew up out in the country so my family didn't get cable until 1989 so I never saw any of the original MTV VJ's except in retropectives. Even though they played more "rock" videos back I think MTV has always sucked for the most part but I did like J.J. I've heard him on a quite a few Wes...

After giving it some deep thought I've come to the conclusion that Rush and Buffett DO have at least one thing in common, reggae. During the popularity of the Police in the 80s I noticed Rush kind of absorbed that influence into some of their own songs (like the break at the end of "Spirit of R...
