It would be a crime to baseball not to let him in the Hall of Fame, and some good PR for Bud Selig (he needs all the good press he can get, especially with the way his daughter has screwed up his team). Personally I think that should be the extent of his "parole", I don't see how you could...

Pickin' on Jimmy Buffett: A Bluegrass Tribute

This one just showed up in my mail today (ordered it with my Amazon.com gift cert. that my sister gave me for Xmas). Great collection of 12 songs done instrumental by a group of bluegrass musicians.

As much as I'd love to vote for my Packers, I'm gonna say the Pats will be taking the trophy home. Now don't get me wrong, if the Packers keep playing as well as they have in December, they could get there, but I don't see them beating the Pats.

There was another thread somewhere that had a link posted to a newspaper article. Apparently the rumor is JB will make an appearance at a Jan. 14th charity event, but there's only 200 tickets being sold at $75/each by 3 Madison radio stations, so it looks like I'm out of luck and will just have to w...

Don't get me wrong, I'd take Cancun (or at least Playa Del Carmen or Puerto Morelos) over Ft. Myers, but at least with the family owning a condo there, my lodging would be free.

I've been cleaning all day (the family is coming to my house for Xmas dinner tomorrow), so I've had the following rotation playing all day: Feeding Frenzy Meet Me in Margaritaville Bathin' Suits & Cowboy Boots Bob Marley - Legend Partly because it's good music to clean by, and partly because it ...

Clive Cussler, any of his "Dirk Pitt" series of books, to be precise. Kind of like "Where is Joe Merchant" meets Tom Clancy; Dirk is a bit Frank Bama, a bit Jack Ryan. I'll second the vote for Hemingway; "Old Man and the Sea" as well as "To Have and To Have Not"

CBIP Madison, WI - opening Jan. 12th

Well according to the CBIP website, the Madison location's grand opening is Jan. 12th. I'm working on getting a Milwaukee crew out for a road trip that day, but I must confess, I don't know any local Parrotheads. I'm also wondering what the odds are that Bubba himself might make an appearance at the...

I will second the vote for Donna the Buffalo, saw/heard them for the first time this summer. They opened up for Jerry Jeff Walker at Summerfest here in Milwaukee. Cowboy Mouth is also another good New Orleans product, but they're more rock and roll than anything. I would also recommend a band called...

If I was a bit more handy, I'd offer to make you one myself. All you'd need is some cabinet stock, wood for legs, a piece of glass for the top, stain and varnish, and a little time at your local Kinko's with some album covers and a color copier, you'd be set!

This actually happened in England, I'm a phone guy and read about this one in a trade magazine. And it would have to happen in Europe somewhere, because there the ground for the phone circuit (which is required for ringing) is at the subscriber end. In North America the ground is back at the phone c...
