First of all to "Brown Eyed Girl" I'm glad we didn't spill on you as we were section 209. The indoor and outdoor concerts seem to have a different energy level. Up on the lawn at Shoreline we all move and dance mostly because there is room to do it. The Arena seats are so close together th...

A little update on this subject. Checking Ebay sales for the San Jose concert it seems the scalpers are losing. Of the 99 ended auctions only 46 sold tickets and it looks like only 11 made any significant money over the ticket price. Many of the tickets went for below face value. Maybe this trend wi...

Trying to remember closing songs is tough. I will accept help from FFishstick as often in the Bay Area the closer has been "Uncle John's Band" but I think I will go with "A Pirate Looks At Forty" from the 2000 San Jose show.

I have been wondering what ringtones different parrottheads have. My old phone was Come Monday and the new phone got Hey Good Looking. It is great to smile everytime an incoming call comes.

What's your ringtone?

I have ended with up an extra ticket or two and found a fellow fan to use it. The part that gets me are the ticket brokers from Dallas and Florida that are selling tickets to the Santa Barbara show on Ebay with the only purpose of profit. Because of this two friends that were second in line at two d...

Ticket scalpers on Ebay

Has anyone followed ticket prices on Ebay as a concert gets closer? Santa Barbara tickets are being sold by ticket agencies from all over the US. Hopefully they have to unload the tickets as April 5th approaches. Right now most of the offered/scalped tickets are not getting bid on. Any opinions on t...

I didn't hear the concert but the set list looks pretty good. Was "A Trip Around the Sun" sung as a duet? Buffett usually saves Uncle John's Band for the No. California show as an encore dedicated to Jerry Garcia. It usually doesn't show up on set lists and we heard him once practicing it ...

In the late 70's the Cirlce Star theater was the concert venue for everything but the big "Days on the Green". The San Jose Center for the Performing Art was new and this was one of the earlier concerts. I do remember it was a Sat night in August and the description of the stage with the p...

The 1981 concert was at the Center for Preforming Arts in downtown San Jose. It was relatively new and I don't Shoreline existed yet. I think the first Shoreline concert was the Floridays tour about 1987.

I feel better that my memory isn't any worse than a lot of others out there. :D

Jimmy Buffett tour 1981

Does anyone have any memories of Buffett's tour in 1981. I saw him in San Jose in August and had a great time but don't remember any specifics of the show. It might have been that it was the first concert that sold drinks and I could buy them.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

"Margaritaville" generation here for music. First concert 1981, don't remember if parrotheads had be formed yet. By 1986? and the Floridays Tour we were in full force as Parrotheads and have 100%participation since then.

In No. California we have had both indoor (Shark Tank)and outdoor (Shoreline) concerts. Majority of the concerts have been outdoors but the first indoor since 1981 was a Sat. March 17, 2001 so you can imagine Saturday night, St Patick's Day, and Buffett. Both venues are fun but I have found them dif...

Just turned the "big" 50. I first saw Jimmy 24 years ago, does this mean I'm second to Prthd119.

I'm surprised at the young ages. At the concerts most of the crowd seems to be my generation. (and their kids)

To UK FAN, Another idea on Jimmy Buffett is the "Music For Monserrat" DVD. Buffett play "Volcano" on it with changes in the lyrics. It is difficult to find in the U.S. but it was filmed in England and has who's who of British music, so it might be available there. Watching the sh...

I never agreed with the "bashing" that this CD gets. I have alway enjoyed it and it is on as much as any other. I see "I Wish Lunch Would Last Forever" as another Buffett escaspism song. I like the rythm of the song and would love to be able to "live" the song some sunn...
