True Parrothead Test...

Is there such a thing? it appears as if one needs to major in it Parrottheadology college to satisfy some people. So what if somebody's favorite Buffett song is "Margaritaville" ? I like that song too. Is it my favorite? I don't know, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. I hate this "...

It's funny, my wife and I were about 15 feet from the stage. I said to her, as they played "Margaritaville", "this must be difficult without a sound check" she said "maybe this is it" sure enough, they stopped the song prematurely and started it back up again about 15 m...

Our Native Conch...

Conor, our son turns ten today. He was born in Key West but we didn't stay very long after he was born. My wife and I decided to take him back for his birthday. We will be leaving next month, the day school lets out.
My wife and I can't wait. Neither can Conor.

While doing Naval reserve duty in New Orleans(during the aftermath of Hurricane Katarina), my wife got to know Anne Curry of the "Today" Show. We are going to be at "30 Rock" next Friday to see Anne and be in the audience for Jimmy. Just another reason to support our military.

I guess with me the difference is, I go to see Jimmy. The venue is kind of secondary. Sure, some places seem better than others. I don't particularly care for Nissan, but that is where he plays, so that is where I go.

I heard him do it at the Pier in Manhattan on July 6, 1988. The reason I know for sure is I got the set list from the guy running sound and I now have the list framed in my office at home.

Ya'll should read a book called "The Devil's Teeth", it is about a group of islands off the coast of San Francisco. At certain times of the year, one of the largest collection of Great White sharks gather there. It is a fascinating book.

Wow, tickets are that expensive? to be perfectly honest with everyone, the cost of a ticket never even entered my mind when I went looking for them. My wife and get on line and try to buy as many as possible. Walking through the parking lot before the show, seeing old friends who know you will be th...

I once saw Jimmy in the early 80's at Kings Dominion, outside of Richmond. Once you paid the admission to the park, the price to see Jimmy was like 6 Coca-cola bottle caps!

I am a little ambivilant. Sure the ticket prices are nuts, but I have been seeing Jimmy Buffett for 27 years in a row now. It is a part of what I (we, my wife and brother) do. Buffett, his music and the things he has given me (Key West, Travis McGee, etc.) are a part of my soul. I know it sounds sil...

Ya'll do realize there was once a Coral Reefer Band without horns don't you? I myself was getting tired of the horns. I like the old concerts, when they were about the songs, not the music. If that makes any sense. I just like the stripped down sound. When there was actually a chance that you could ...
