Even if it IS Steve's wishes for it to be seen by millions...think of the kids and the "Did you see the tape"...that the rest of the family will have to live through. If someone I loved deeply died, I would not want the world to oogle over the footage...just my opinion but...I personally w...

We all will miss him. We all will mourn in our own way. Even my keet, who will be 16 next weekend and grew up watching "Crocky" (as a lot of kids call him) went to his room and turned on Animal Planet. He had little to say except, "Wow, Mom, that really stinks...I liked him a lot"...

I've taken my older keet (he was 14 at the time) and we had a BLAST! This is not only about the Parrotheads, it's about parenting. (The topic, not the board) Judgement is key and I would MUCH rather have my Son next to me and I KNOW what he is doing and seeing rather than off at some other show with...

My hubby was so sympathetic with baby number one. I gained 42 pounds...he gained 45. I had the swelling and big belly and sweating (it was 104 degrees for 5 days straight that Summer ) but then HE got the hemmroids!!! Today was the 41st day of 100+ temps in DFW this year. I don't know how Mr...

Susan, I think you pinned it down in these few words... "thinking about how much influance his absence formed my life." It wasn't what he had done that made the difference, but what you had done with it . And BB's story of hating a father who didn't even have a choice of doing what she th...

Thanks for the pep talk and the support. I have my letter written and I am going to mail it. I do know where to find him so he may actually read it. Weather he cares or not, I will have said what I needed to and I will make piece with myself and my demons. Then I can begin to forgive.

I almost forgot! We had "doo-doo candy"....why is was poop or doo-doo, dunno, but it was and it DID work. Marshmellows for Mollie and Wether's for Jim. Whatever is his favorite. And we had "potty books" that I would only read on the pot. Sesame Street's ABC was a great one! (and ...

Thanks Mal...and everyone else too! I know it's not a "me" issue...it's a "him" issue but it doesn't make me feel any better. I can give pep talks all day but to listen to someone else...that's a lot harder. I've debated writing him and mailing it to somewhere he will never be......

I know in my head you all are right and by no means have I taken offense to any of it. I appreciate it all. I just feel like I have SO much to say and no one to say it to! As far as the sisters....who the heck knows...I am an only child for my Mom. Like most, my family is weird but all of my fathers...

My Father...the *&%^...am I bitter???

You bethcha I am... He left when I was 2. I was the latest of SIX daughters and I wasn't the Son "He deserved" (and WHO decided that anyway??) He called on Christmas day the year I was 7. I ran into him at a race track when I was on a date with Hubby (long before he was hubby) when I was 1...

Sounds like the day care provider needed a reality check. MOST 2 year olds (mine included) don't think about potty and making people mad at the same time. Popping their pants and feeling yucky and not wanting to stop playing to change, yes, they think like that. Not how mad someone will be at them. ...

My oldest was 14 at his first concert. He LOVED it and as a Mom, I know ways to divert attention when the situation takes an adult turn...Now he vows to never miss a show I attend. Raise them right and they know what's appropiate! Good Job to all the parents who posted here. Mollie is 7 and she's wa...

I love this! I'd seen it before but it never hurts to remind parents... Now, I have a chocolate milk to refill before I can shower. Oh Sure...at 7, she COULD refill it herself...but the mess of a gallon of "choco-milk" on the kitchen floor or the sticky after she "cleans" it...no...

I agree with the whole idea. I don't care if he has a prompter or not...as long as he keeps on singing. When Alan Jackson joined him on stage for Margaritaville, Nashville, 2004, they totally screwed up and we all laughed....oh well, it proves he's human... He played Nashville? :) Todd...don't you ...
