Re: What ya got cookin this weekend?

We BBQ tear round, even when it snows. This Sunday we are having a shin dig for my daughter's confirmation on Sunday that includes hot wings, BBQ wings, homemade mac n cheese, chopped salad, peel and eat shrimp, fresh fruit tray, and cupcakes.

No...it's the service. Every time I have to call or go in a store I end up talking to an idiot.

Re: New Droid Phone Help

I have a Droid X and I've loved it. I kind of wish an X3 would come out so I could see if the specs can match the Razr Maxx. I've also heard good things about the Incredible II, but it's an older phone (by phone standards), so you might see what the next gen looks like. We're eligible for an upgrade...

We usually rent via hotwire, also. Got a current-year Nissan Altima when we went to San Antonio.

Re: Airbnb experiences?

And really, even the pickiest eaters will find something to eat...it's NYC! There are fresh fruit stands all over the place and every kind of restaurant at every budget imaginable. My guess is this isn't about picky eaters, it's more about food allergies, which are a giant pain in the ass. While I ...

Airbnb experiences?

Looking at this as a possibility for all/part of our trip to NYC this summer. Thoughts or suggestions or experiences to share? The biggest win here is having access to kitchen where we can prepare and store food rather than eat out every meal--which is very expensive especially with a kiddo and hubb...

Re: New Tattoo Placement

That is pretty dang close. I would make the stem a hair longer, but that is exactly how I see it in my mind.

Re: New Tattoo Placement

That's pretty close, actually. I love the cursive of the "Mom." And I like how you remembered the detail of the stem poking just beneath the banner. I'd like the banner running over the clover instead of under it (mostly so a wide bracelet could cover it. So, like this but with a clover in...

Re: New Tattoo Placement

I'm leaning toward forearm or wrist at this point. It really is near/dear to my heart (I don't want it on my chest). I wouldn't get to see it as much as I want to if I put it on the outside of my arm. My office isn't necessarily tattoo-averse. I don't really want to climb the ladder. And there are ...

Re: Leaving a "stable" job

I'm pretty close to leaving my 'stable' job...although I will probably go to one that is relatively stable, also. I've worked here for 12 years in a variety of positions. I love what I do, but due to the economy I haven't seen a raise in 4 years even though I am consistently a top performer. I've be...

Re: New Tattoo Placement

I used to want a tat but thankfully I never got it. I read this and told my kids that after I'm dead and gone if they want to memorialize me donate the money for the tat to something that could do some good in this world. Around here there are a bunch of people who memorialize dead folks by having ...

New Tattoo Placement

So, I'm getting a new tattoo but I'm still deciding where to put it. It's going to be a 4-leaf clover with a banner running through it that says "Mom." My mom always used to find 4 leaf clovers so it's pretty much my homage to her. Where I *really* want to put it is my forearm. You know. L...
