Re: Blanchard's parmesan pepper dressing
Yeah, I got an email trying to sell it to me. I can't even keep up with the cookbooks I HAVE and we're either eating out all the time or, conversely, dieting, so I rarely buy cookbooks any more. They fun to look at at bookstores.

Re: 60 below in Alaska
No no no.... you don't just 'appreciate' warm places... we did that when we lived in cold places. What you do is LIVE in warm places (as we have for the last seven years) and avoid the cold seasons (or just do a couple days at a time, if you HAVE to) in cold places. Lots of people who have grown up ...

Re: Blanchard's parmesan pepper dressing
We ate there! In July, while island hopping! But I don't remember this, so probably didn't order it. Good food otherwise. Afterwards, we got to go watch Bankie play his final rehearsal before his summer US tour... specially nice night. Maybe will have to mix this up as an Anguilla tribute.

Re: 60 below in Alaska
89 F today, 76 right now... but I'm not going out 'cause I tripped and fell on the walk and scraped my face a few days ago; tropic sun does NOT feel good on injured skin. Feeling sorry for poor Jimmy who is now in SoCal on business (and it's OK there, he's loving the tennis nightly), BUT tomorrow he...

Cockspur steel band orchestra (Bajan), Soca Gold (last year's Carnival songs like Bring It and Get On) -- and when the radio is on, this year's 'road songs' competing for Carnival's Road Song award... which sound surprisingly like last year's road songs... "wave yuh arm!" last year.... &qu...

Re: Info on Universal in FL
If I read you right it's $75 plus $50 or $125 each per day with a 'fast pass' and $75 plus $100 or $175.00 each per day to go to the front of the line.... isn't that a little high for a theme park ? Last time we did Universal FL was when the conference was last in Orlando, and they closed the park t...

Re: Info on Universal in FL
We will look into the 'Fast Pass' gate entry ticket... it may cost more, but the base ticket is already $75 and we only have the one day and don't expect to do this when we are back in Orlando again in October for a week. Thanks for the information. No not staying there, at the Rosen Plaza as part o...

Re: What are your hobbies?
Beer is an excellent hobby if you are not pursuing rum... each island here has its own beer -- or one that it has adopted from another island. My Jimmy might count beer as one of his hobbies, except for he is athletically obsessed. The beer comes after the athletics. One of the athletics is the runn...

Re: Info on Universal in FL
Thanks! We always used to love Pat O'Briens in NO, maybe we will try that, this'll be a Saturday, so think we will have to plan and reserve as much ahead as possible to avoid lines. Jimmy does not like lines.
Again thank you for all your help.

Re: Info on Universal in FL
Thank you!!! We won't be arriving at the park until noon, as he has meetings in the morning, should we still follow this plan? Or would it be better to leave Spiderman until just before it closes in this case? Is there anything equivalent to a FastPass? What is your favorite restaurant in CityWalk? ...

Re: Ti Punch
Angostura, which has a better distribution up north there than the rhum distillers of Martinique and so on, has just come out with a rhum naturel (as we call it to distinguish it from the traditional molasses based rums, such as Appleton) called Ten Cane and it is really good. You might be able to f...

PS I HAD a 'bird problem' in California, but here there are hundreds of kinds of birds, literally, and they feed themselves so mostly you just watch them... we see 20-30 different kinds a day...

Info on Universal in FL
Hey guys, we're going to be in Orlando for some meetings of Jimmy's in late January, so we are planning to spend a day at Universal, doing the Islands part (the Studio Tour part we are too familiar with having lived in California for a while and 'been there-done that' enough), and we plan to do City...

Re: Family Friendly Caribbean Resort
We stayed at a Club Med (one of the ones that allows kids) in May due to Jimmy's tennis tournament, but it sure seemed like the kids were having a great time, and everything was included in one price, and it was on the most gorgeous beach. You might look into Club Med.

Re: How has being a Parrothead changed your life?
Dunno... we live in the Caribbean? (well, we do) Seriously tho' we never went to a Buffett concert until we moved back stateside from the first Caribbean residency... it was just music we'd listened to and been aware of for about 25 years along with Arlo Guthrie, Ramsey Lewis, Aretha, Gordon Lightfo...

You can get a drink in the hotels, Epcot and MGM, just not in the MK itself. [California-- you can drink in the California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney, just also not in the MK-- the bar hidden UNDER the Mermaid type restaurant in CA Adventure actually has Bonny Doon wines!!] Hopefully in FL y...
