That's what I thought when I saw the (empty) stadium in person earlier this month.

Re: 2009 Baseball Season

Boston media is reporting that some fairly major offers have come in for Clay Buccholtz in the past couple weeks. Buccholtz has a 0.46 Spring Training ERA and, according to Peter Gammons and Baseball America could be the number 1 starter on 8 MLB teams (some sources would argue more than 10). With ...

Re: Citi Field

Dean, Shea is now reduced to a pile of rubble across the street. Citi Field was built in what used to be the parking lot behind Shea's outfield fence. So basically, assuming the Mets/NYC would allow it, you could have tailgating at Citifield once all the debris from Shea is removed for a Buffett co...

Re: 2009 Baseball Season

Curt Schilling official retires. Now is he a HOFer? Very tough call. Yes. But others should get in before him. 214 wins and roughly 3100 K's . . . there are better HOF options out there. His name - persona - bloody sock - etc. put him over. Yup. If voters value postseason performance as much as the...

Does anyone remember the pair of threads about a BN'er hitting a deer (and then the deer telling his side of the story?) a few years back?

Re: Gun ownership issue

The case aero and Santa are referring to is DC v. Heller , and the gun ban was overturned by the Supreme Court. Justice Scalia wrote the majority opinion and the basic premise of it was to define word by word, phrase by phrase what the second amendment meant (in his and the majority's view of course...

About A-Roids Cyst... was it in the same hip he took the steroid injections? Why is the media so quiet about this? Didn't Giambi develop some sort of cyst or something in his brain not long after he got off the juice? Same with Clemens, he had something growing on his ass. Don't mistake that for hi...

Re: 2009 Baseball Season

So....the last game in "old" Yankmee stadium got a 7-hour pregame show from ESPN. The last game in Shea got mentioned briefly. The excuse for the discrepancy was the "historical differences" between the two. So...that must mean that the pre-game shows for the Yanks and the Mets ...

Re: 2/12/009 Key West concert download

Since Jimmy seems to love Apple products (I've seen Macbooks and iPods in some of videos), can I assume the video of "A Lot to Drink About" will work on iPods that support videos??? Can anyone that's downloaded the videos already confirm that it does or doesn't work on iPods? Looking forwa...

Re: Do you support the Obama "stimulus package"?

Hmmm...interesting poll results (as of now it's 25-10 no over yes). I was speaking with a former professor (from a class about Congress) earlier today about the bill and she had a poll that said that overall 54% of Americans supported the bill and when you broke it down along party lines, 75% of Dem...

Re: A-Rod reportedly tested positive for steroids

The reason the results were not released earlier was because they weren't supposed to be released. In 2003, MLB implemented drug testing to survey how widely used it was. Apparently, A-Rod was one of 104 players that tested positive. The results were supposed to be destroyed after a 30 days and that...

So if the A Rod (A Roid) steroid rumors are true, can we FINALLY agree that the homerun is the most overrated stat for Hall of Fame voting EVER! It should almost be dis - allowed at this point. Not from a business standpoint. Homeruns put butts in the seats. :P I always thought batting average was ...

I have no idea why Jimmy doesn't use the distribution model that Dave Matthews uses. His fan base has first dibs on tix through his on-line fan club far in advance of pulic availability. When I was in an officially sanctioned (PHiP) Parrot Head club, we did get the opportunity to receive a block of...

Jane has songwriting credits for Kick It In in Second wind and Something so feminine about aMandolin. As far as I know she has never been on stage with Jimmy. She is a behind the seens gal. Jane was on stage with Jimmy once that I know of, but not to perform. When JB played Jones Beach in 2004 (I t...
