I wouldn't miss it if I were you. It is a great show and it is all Christmas music. No Buffett tunes.

A friend of mine's husband (now ex) was arrested for stupidity, I mean for carrying a controlled substance without a prescription. He got stopped at airport security because he "forgot" that he had a knife in his boot. He was asked three times if he had anything and he said no. When they s...

Re: Advice for my first winter up north?
First, the bag of kitty litter or of sand in the trunk is great, if you have a rear wheel drive car. Doesn't do a thing for you if it is front wheel drive, unless you sprinkle on the snow/ice when you get stuck. Second, if it is rear wheel drive with an automatic transmission and you are approaching...

Re: 2010 NCAA Football
I always laugh when I hear these claims that one school or another doesn't play a tough enough schedule and then you look at the ones that supposedly do and they play less than 50% of their games against teams that have won a third of their games in the last year. Or the folks who say that when a sc...

I have 7 friends who run the Boston Marathon every year. It all started when they worked at the same company, now it's just what they do.

Shoot, forgot about WKRP Me too. Remember Les when he dropped the turkeys out of the helicopter and realized after the fact that they couldn't fly! Or, Booooger! HaHa. Back in the day. To be accurate, Les was on the ground reporting. It was Mr. Carlson and Herb throwing the turkeys out of the helic...

And what do you want/need a Masters in Hospitality for? Is it going to get you a job as a GM of a major resort or even for a major hotel? Not likely. Most hire those with experience. It's like those who get a BA or BS in Travel and Tourism only to end up as travel agents or ticketing agents for airl...

Don't forget that it is legal to take minors into bars until 11pm. This means that you can frequently take them to catch the early show at a number of musical venues that they wouldn't be allowed in otherwise.

Re: Do You trust da Cops?
I've known good cops, bad cops and some that aren't too sure. I respect the men and women who work in law enforcement for their willingness to stick their necks out and work miserable hours and in many place, for a terrible wage. If a police officer says something, I'm willing to give him or her the...

Re: Open Enrollment...aka Open Season
Three years ago this past December between my employer's contribution and mine spent about $15k annually to insure myself and my teenager. The split was roughly 50/50 and the coverage was good. Max co-pay on meds was $30.00, to see the doc was $25, max out of pocket $2k per person. Two years ago, th...

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm afraid that my Golden isn't too far off from that final trip to the vet. She's lost a lot of weight, doesn't want to get up too often but the vet can't find anything wrong with her, other than age. It is so, so hard to see them suffer and to loss them. My thoughts an...

We are the world's best bomb manufacturers because we have the most experience and with the Nonproliferation Treaty, we should be able to maintain that position for years to come. What is sad, is how our government used US citizens living in Eastern Nevada, Southern and Central Utah, Northern Arizon...

Re: want to limit the carry-ons for airplanes??
I would love to see the airlines require that your carry on has to be in the overhead, above your seat or under the seat in front of you. There is nothing worse than having a seat near the front, which means you're last to board and all of the overheads are full, except that one all the way in the b...

I have to say that I loved my Windjammer Cruises and have pretty much hated all the big cruise ship experiences that I've had. I'm not a diver so I can't address that part of this survey. I have stayed at AIs in a couple of places when I've gone with friends and I'm nonplussed by them. When I travel...

Re: Airline looses bag but refuses to refund baggage fee
I have to say that from a moral and ethical standpoint I believe that the airline should refund the fee. The only one I know of that does, is Alaskan. Not only will they do it if they lose your bag, they will do it if your bag takes more than 30 minutes from the time that passengers deplane until th...

Re: Car Rental Question
I have rented cars from everyone out there and I have good and bad stories from all of them. The worst, based on my experience is Budget, especially internationally. I don't use Alamo/Enterprise/National very often because I find that the cars tend to have higher mileage and are the base version of ...
