I was looking at recordings from Jazz Fest and under the 2005 section, if you click on Allen Toussaint's set list, a song is titled "Jimmy Buffet". Did he play he song with Jimmy last year at Jazz Fest or what.

I did a little BMI research and the name of the song is actually listed at BMI under Allen Toussaint's repertoire as:

Nancy, I love that song. I always thought the title was "Jimmy Buffett" because I have CDs of performances by Allen Toussaint from 2 different Jazz Fests that's what it was called on both of them.

I was so glad that I was at least a little familiar with the song...thanks to you.

I don't think I'd ever heard that one until it was played on RM yesterday----probably in response to your posts (or requests).

I worked on the lyrics of this song, but I really don't hear well and I couldn't find the lyrics anywhere on the internet. I posted the lyrics on the setlist thread also for Gulf Shores. RM has been playing quite a few of those LIVE versions of the songs from the concert on the beach.

Nancy turned me on to this video some time ago. It brings tears to my eyes for many reasons every time I watch it.

I am going to see Allen Toussaint in November at the Eisenhower Auditorium in State College, PA. It should be a fantastic show!! I just order two of his live shows from Jazz Fest in NOLA.
